BREAKING: Egyptian military gives 48 hour ultimatum to Brotherhood, political forces

The armed forces are giving all political forces 48 hours as a last chance to solve the ongoing problems, or else the armed forces will have to announce a new roadmap for the future, and will enforce certain measures with the help of all factions including the youth, without excluding anyone.

The statement was read out on Egyptian state TV.

Four Egypt ministers quit Mursi's cabinet: top official

CAIRO: Egypt's ministers of tourism, environment, communication and legal affairs tendered their resignations on Monday a day after massive protests against President Mohammad Mursi swept the country, a senior government official told AFP.

The four handed in their letters of resignation together to Prime Minister Hisham Qandil, the official said.

Tourism minister Hisham Zazou had already tried to resign last month after Mursi appointed Adel al-Khayat, a member of an Islamist party linked to a massacre of tourists in Luxor, as governor of the temple city.

The Islamist president on June 16 named Khayat along with 16 other new governors, including seven from his Muslim Brotherhood movement.

Khayat is a member of the political arm of ex-Islamic militant group Gamaa Islamiya, which claimed responsibility for the massacre of 58 tourists at Luxor in 1997.

But Zazou returned to work last week after Khayat quit.

Monday's resignations come amid a campaign of civil disobedience and a day after massive nationwide protests against Mursi and his Muslim Brotherhood.

A dramatic military statement broadcast on state television declared the nation was in danger after millions of Egyptians took to the streets on Sunday to demand that Mursi quit and the headquarters of the ruling Muslim Brotherhood were ransacked.

"If the demands of the people are not realized within the defined period, it will be incumbent upon (the armed forces)... to announce a road map for the future," said the statement by chief-of-staff General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. It was followed by patriotic music.

The people had expressed their will with unprecedented clarity in the mass demonstrations and wasting more time would only increase the danger of division and violence, he said.

Deposed by the military seems like a fitting end for Morsi imo.

Iranians are happy ? Why would any Iranian be happy that Egypt is in turmoil ? a country whose origin is not even Arab.
We wish prosperity for Egypt and hope their country becomes calm again.
Right now, Iran is the most stable country in the entire Middle East. In your face, shi teagle

Morsi is a good guy. On the Foreign policy he wanted to form some alliance against US/Israel with the regional powers. But his domestic policies turned out to be wrong though.
