Look at how the Jamal Khashoggi issue was blown out of proportion to allow the American preacher escape from Turkey because the latter couldn't handle a few days of American sanctions.

Pakistan nor Turkey cannot survive 1 year under the sanctions Iran is under.

Look at Turkey, with no major sanctions it’s economy has taken a dive and Lira has lost value steeply against USD. AKP and Erdogan got embarrassed in municipality elections and might lose power in general election for first time since 90’s.

All this because US put TINY bit of pressure and Turkey stood up for itself.

Which brings me to my next point: Your citizens might love you today, but if tomm bread is more expensive then that love leaves really quickly.

Turkey and Pakistan know this very well, they are able to withstand the level of Iran sanctions which at this point are draconian and beyond harsh compared to the 90’s and early ‘00s when it was just embargo and other sanctions.
