Egypt vs. Israel - a rough comparison!

Seriously, there has been lots of Arab-Persian threads lately, lets cut the trend now.

The following is the comparison between Egypt and Israel from Globalfirepower. I know this is not an accurate comparison that is why I added the word "roughly" so that we can debate on the issue.

Roughly, we can observe superiority of Egypt over Israel however, Israel is clearly superior in the air-force department. Also, Israel has little energy resources of its own and can face severe shortage of oil to run its war machine if outside help does not arrive.

Egypt foreign reserve is more than half less than what it was at the time of this report due to the unstabilty since the revolution. Israel is superior in the air-force, and that give it a clear advatage over a desert war. Sinai is just a desert if you guys didn't know that.

Can't agree more. If we really want to be able to withstand a war with Israel then we should begin to manafacture our own arms and especially aircrafts. While of course we won't be able to make as modern and as strong equipment as they do, at least we'll be able to make something to defend ourselves with.
In case of a war, the west, which Egypt depends mainly on for arms and weaponry, won't supply Egypt with a single bullet. That could cause Egypt major losses in a war if it doesn't find other arms suppliers. If we aren't looking forward to creating our own weaponry, then we should look at foreign suppliers of weaponry other than allies of Israel. I believe Russia could be a good example.

I would rather go to war with 3rd gen fighter and electronics I build than go to war with fifth gen I bought from somewhere else that is downgraded.

Egypt seriously needs a Mass Military Modernization not to mention getting rid of the Mirages in the Airforce, one important thing is to be wary of the abram tank it has because the USA would cut the supply and parts for it, it must build it's own tank or buy from Russia.

Years of Mubarok rule did cripple Egypt a lot. I hope, people's government will look into the shortcomings of Egypt more prudently now. Egypt has all the time it need to be a great nation again. Egypt should look out to co-operate with Turkey for modern war machine.

Agree but why limit to Turkey alone ? Russia, China, Pakistan, South Korea, Iran, the list goes on and on. being dependent on one country is not smart.

Just my point of view, the best bet beside cooperation with other countries is self reliant since that will build self confident.

These plain numbers worth nothing. For example Egypt has 4 subs vs 3 Israeli. But Israel has 3 modern German subs while Egypt 4 ancient Romeo which are good only for museum.

When Mubarak came to power Egypt and Syria had more or less similar armies. Nowdays Syrian army is complete junk compare to Egypt's.

Without US support Egyptian army will degrade just like Syrian.

Without US "support", Egyptian military can reach higher grounds if their people support them and their military base their decisions on the people's will. Besides, comparing with so called "Israel" is unrealistic because in the event of any (highly unlikely as of now) war, USA and their servants are very likely to support Zionist terrorists. Who would support Egypt strongly is a matter of open debate, whether any country or group of countries will even support Egypt strongly with weapons, supplies, replacements, etc is another issue altogether.

An Egyptian-Saudi joint thrust could overwhelm so called "Israel" in conventional war in the early days, but what happens after their American 'partners' start favouring Zionists and block deliveries of supplies to Egypt and Saudi Arabia is quite easy to understand. Saudi Arabia should not consider the kafir West as their ally.
