ECP takes notice of Imran Khan’s 'personal attack' against Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) took notice of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan’s “personal attack” against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday, Express News reported.

Earlier the same day, Khan had addressed a rally in Bahawalpur, where he used words for Nawaz Sharif that the ECP found objectionable.

The entire speech will be put before the ECP Chief Fakhruddin Ebrahim in a meeting on Tuesday, where it will be evaluated whether the speech contained offensive remarks or not.
On Friday, ECP had issued a notification prohibiting political parties and their candidates from launching personal attacks against their opponents.

With election campaign in full swing and parties holding rallies, candidates were seen criticising each other and often resorting to name-calling and rhetoric that could be construed as slander.

I'm up for it, if IK did personal attach on NS, he should be punished and justice should be done. However, same justice should also be done on PML-N for personal attacks on Imran Khan recently and in 1997.

It seems the EPC is taking direct dictation from the Chief Justice. This all-time corrupt Chief Justice of Pakistan will make sure that the only standing party in Pakistan election is PMLN. Is he not Rana sanaullah's first cousin? And Nawaz Shareef has promised him the presidency once he becomes the next chief looter of Pakistan.
