ECP asset record shows PTI as richest political party

ISLAMABAD: Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emerged as the richest political party of the country as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) released details of the assets of 81 political parties on Tuesday.

After PTI, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is the second richest among the political parties of Pakistan. Pakistan People’s Party holds the third position in the worth of assets.

According to the ECP, PTI owns assets worth Rs316.6 million. The party’s fortunes received a boost of Rs220 million in one year, the ECP disclosed in the record.

A certificate from the party states that the PTI did not receive any funding from any prohibited source. The PTI received Rs65.8 million funds from Overseas Pakistanis. It got Rs49.2m from the Overseas Pakistanis settled in Britain alone.

The party also received Rs12.6m donations from the compatriots living in the United States, according to the details released by ECP.

The PTI has also declared its six bank accounts to the ECP.

Former ruling party PML-N has assets worth Rs253.377955m. The party earned an amount of 119.7m from issuing party tickets for elections. The PML-N financial fortunes increased by Rs20m in a year.

The PPP has a bank balance of over Rs167m and it received an amount of Rs93.7m while issuing tickets to the party’s election candidates, the ECP details suggest.

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) owns assets worth over Rs49.9m, according to the ECP details.

Religio-political party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan has assets worth Rs5m collected in donations from members and sympathizers.

Sheikh Rasheed-led Awami Muslim League is the poorest among Pakistan’s political parties with assets worth Rs138,000.

Jamaat-e-Islami has financial fortunes to the tune of Rs106.3m, while MQM-Pakistan has a financial worth of Rs17.5m, the record released by the ECP said.

Yes and how overseas Pakistani supporting PTI in legitimate ways is wrong? PTI declaring their income is called transparency ON THE OTHER HAND PML-N was selling tickets to highest bidder to make money for personal gains. I really admire the naivety of your answer. The ECP has still not been disclosed the sources of PTIs massive fundings for more than five years now. The matter is still pending on a friendly courts STAY order.The list of funders includes many non Pakistanis of Indian and other origins whos sources are of dubious nature.
I am sure you dont think that the bulk fundings are only provided by Aleem Khan,Jahangir Tareen,Kareem Daddy or Arif Naqvi (abraaj gp). It should be noted that all four of them are local/international convicts with the later just got released on a 20 Million pound bail in UK for massive FRAUD.
