But as Chinese national strength went down in 19th and first half 20th century, Chinese culture losts some influence. Maybe a strong economy is is prerequisite for its culture to spread. Japan did very well.

East Asian Confucian Culture is what binds Chinese, Japanese and Koreans together. All three are repositories of this beautiful culture that defines East Asia, unique amongst all other civilizations and cultures in this world. And this is the reason why , despite political differences, the bond between China-Korea-Japan is deep. And should always be.

It is blood-deep.

Japan ancient legend is very intereting ,some of the legends are same like china's

The Greatest Manifestation of East Asian Confucian Culture: Filial Piety

Filial piety was an integral part of Confucian culture and therefore was embraced by three of East Asia's main religions: Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism, Shintoism. Among the three, Confucianism, with its well documented social hierarchy, supported the ideals of filial piety the most. Buddhism and Daoism also supported filial piety in some of their texts, but had monastic systems that prevented monks and nuns from being filial children.

The term filial piety refers to the extreme respect that children are supposed to show their parents. It involves many different things including taking care of the parents, burying them properly after death, bringing honor to the family, and having a male heir to carry on the family name . Practicing these ideals is a very important part of Confucian culture. Therefore, one would expect that filial piety would be incorporated into the major religions of East Asia as it has been.

The ideal of respecting and behaving properly towards one's parents fits perfectly with Confucianism's ideal of respecting and behaving properly towards all elders. Confucius himself addressed the subject in the Analects:

When your father is alive observe his intentions. When he is deceased, model yourself on the memory of his behavior. If in three years after his death you have not deviated from your father's ways, then you may be considered a filial child. ("Confucian Teachings" 20).

Yes, Nihonjin you are right, some region in Indonesia still has China influence since China in the past can be seen as the most modern in Asia.

The influence of China I believe also happen in my own culture, Minang people at West Sumatra, the traditional dress for married couple is more like Chinese one, Betawi people at Jakarta also get huge influence from Chinese culture. But in term of many other things, Islam culture is the dominance one here.

Wonderful ! :)

My all time favorite Chinese romance ballad would have to be Jacky Cheung's "Last Kiss Goodbye".

There is a Japanese rendition, but the Chinese version captures the emotion for me. :)

Indonesian band Andra and The Backbone playing their more rock melody live. I believe Indonesian music and movies are quite well known in our region, and now since The Raid movies comes, we try to go to the world stage.
