据@中国地震台网速报 17日8时6分发布消息，中国地震台网正式测定：2月17日07时39分在墨西哥（北纬16.60度，西经97.75度）发生7.1级地震，震源深度10千米。
据今日俄罗斯17日报道，一架载有墨西哥内政部长和震区瓦哈卡州州长的直升机当地时间16日晚在尝试降落时坠毁，两位官员均幸免于难，且均没有严重受伤。但此次事故造成了地面上有2人死亡。报道称，该直升机在赶赴震区途中遭遇技术故障。
据BBC最新消息，搭载该国内政部长的直升机坠毁事件造成的死亡人数已上升至14人，包括一名婴儿。
墨西哥内政部长阿方索·纳瓦雷特当天对媒体说，他们所乘直升机当晚计划前往墨南部瓦哈卡州皮诺特帕纳雄耐尔附近视察地震灾情。直升机即将降落时失去控制坠落地面，造成地面2人死亡。
纳瓦雷特说，事故发生时，除他本人外，直升机上还搭载着瓦哈卡州州长等多名政府工作人员。医疗救援队已到达现场对伤者展开救治。
墨西哥总统培尼亚当天通过社交媒体对直升机坠落事故遇难者表示哀悼，祝愿伤者早日康复。
针对当天早些时候皮诺特帕纳雄耐尔附近发生的地震，纳瓦雷特说，震中附近地区目前出现停电情况，部分建筑外墙受损。全国约99.8万人遇到电力不足问题，供水暂未出现严重问题，部分受灾道路桥梁正在检修。
地震距震中54.5公里的Pinotepa人口约2.5万人，距震中69公里的Tlaxiaco约1.5万人，距震中80公里的Ometepec约1.8万人。
据路透社报道，墨西哥首都墨西哥城有震感，墨西哥城高层建筑摇晃超过1分钟，地震警报响彻整个城市。
当局表示，目前暂无地震导致的人员和财产损失报告。

When the helicopter was about to land, it lost control of the crashed ground, killing two people on the ground.
Navarrete said that at the time of the accident, in addition to himself, the helicopter was also equipped with a number of government officials including the Governor of Oaxaca. Medical teams have arrived at the scene to treat the injured.
Mexican President Peña expressed his condolences for the victims of the helicopter crash through social media on the same day and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
In response to an earthquake that took place near Pinole Parnatan Nile earlier in the day, Navarrete said that power outages are occurring in the vicinity of the epicenter and that some of the building's external walls have been damaged. About 998,000 people in the country have problems of lack of electricity, water supply has yet to present a serious problem, and some of the affected roads and bridges are undergoing overhaul.

The Pinotepa population of 54.5 kilometers from the epicenter was about 25,000, about 15,000 from Tlaxiaco, 69 kilometers from the epicenter, and about 18,000 from Ometepec, 80 kilometers from the epicenter.
