DW: Pakistan on collision course with Iran?

Collision course with Iran? Impossible. Pakistan has historically enjoyed very cordial relations with Iran and is home to the largest Shia population outside of Iran.
Yes, relations may have been slightly strained in the last two decades but that is solely due to the complex geopolitical situation and not because Pakistan wishes to pursue policies that would put it at odds with Tehran. Even when relations were at their lowest ebb, Iran's cultural centers continue to function normally in Pakistan. People go there to get books, learn Farsi, attend events organized with poets and musicians from Iran. There is no effort to inculcate opposition to Iran or limit their ingress in Pakistan.
Pakistan's objective is to try and balance its relations with the GCC and Iran but never at the cost of the other. We have seen close coordination between the countries in dealing with Jundullah and I am certain that our relations with Iran will only improve in the coming years.

SOme people need to keep their superiority complex to themselves

Saudi is head and brain of this attack Pakistanis just implement it we shouldn't misguide and put blame on Pakistan and I believe that most of Pakistanis are unhappy with that issue.
We are concerned because little detail is available but we view it as a force for good if its intentions are exactly what we are being told a Muslim NATO will keep Murica out of the region

Shia population
Only Sunni majority country in the world to have elected Shia leaders is Pakistan we have the second biggest Shia population after Iran sure extremists pose a threat to Shias but saying that the state of Pakistan discriminates against Shias is absolutely ridiculous

As usual pakistanis find a way to blame India. Somehow everything with them a grand conspiracy involving India/RAW/Modi.
That is rich coming from a country where the pm blames isi for rising popularity of opposition parties

I can only imagine the frustration of Iranian diplomats and other officials having to deal with their Pakistani counterparts.
Our doors are open our policy is bringing Iran and SAudi closer so proxy wars in Middle East end

Only the difference may be more ISI officers will be fluent in Farsi!!!!!

its bound to happen, you cant have stable relation with rough Mullah terrorist state in our west for so lages"ong, its unnatural.
For all the "intelligent" Iranians in this forum, how come they have ended up with Vatican style clergy rule which can't be changed at all???? Isn't it something that belongs to the "dark ages"???

I am sharing your joy!!!!!!

It would be highly concerning degrees of intellectual bankruptcy to believe that a people who put existential fear into a military nuclear regional superpower like Israel, who comfortably with 70 million strong population ride roughshod over 300 million Arab warring nations, are suddenly going to be scared of a 200 million strong nation on their border. With or without nukes. The Iranians have fought a 10 year war with Saddam at his peak, and won. In spite of American support. They are unlikely to take seriously beating war drums from a nation that has never won a war to date.

This is my personal read as an Indian of course, so I might be a tad biased.

But hey! Aren't we all? ;)

over 300 million Arab warring nations

want to correct your figure? who are Arab enemies of Iran except Saudis?

yeah, your supa powa spend 10 years fighting much smaller Iraq that too without no outcome.

Iran has been assured that alliance will not work against Iran and if and when they do Pakistan will part ways. Iran needs to understand our position rather than trying to dictate us. Pakistan is not against Iran and will never be. However we are also not against Saudi Arabia and want good relationship with both. In fact Pakistan wishes to act as a bridge between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

I feel sorry for the loss of these men. But I feel disappointed at the language Iranians use against a country they term brethren. They do also realize the magnitude of challenges Pakistan is facing and use of such a directly implicating tone is only going to please the enemies. Sanity should prevail and they should not let the relations slip into dysfunct territory

.
Actually Pakistan and Iran cant just fight. Thats the reason why Iranis comfortably support Indian actions in Pakistan, and we Pakistanis are now ready to support Saudis in war on terror. Whatever we both countries do with each other, we just cant fight. We even cant afford to have bad relations with each other.

That nation somehow defeated the USSR, put the USA in a quagmire, developed nukes, and at a constant war against 7x larger next door enemy whose religious redemption lies in her destruction!! And, that enemy couldn't openly attack her for the last 45 years even after massing her entire forces every now and then, and having the backing of almost entire world!!!!! Not only that they curved out a part of Kashmir within 1 year of existence. Even after sending the largest forces since WW2 their major cities couldn't be taken. Even 5x larger Air Force was of no use. One Major took out 11 of the enemy aircrafts. Another Major didn't let the half of the Indian forces to cross a damn 200ft canal!! On top of everything they produced the best proxy traitors enemies can buy, and it had its repercussions. Not that bad an achievement. Needless to say their predecessors built Empires in far away lands and ruled centuries after centuries. The Persians can't even dream of that!!!! Off course I am biased too for it's one nation two states!!!!

The people who hate Pakistan are evidently the Pakistanis themselves, the ones like you who obviously belong to the privileged minority of your country that have absolute contempt for the terrible conditions your fellow citizens have to endure, so much to the point that you deny the very poor conditions that millions of your people suffer under even exist. You are in denial. That is your self-loathing. Do not try to project it onto other people.

I don't know Pakistani's seem quite happy bunch to me .
