Yes not a great idea, we tried and it led us to hell!
The problem is such a method relies on a surge of infected which can literally bring even first world nations to their knees. With that in mind a nation ceases to function and the I haven’t even got into the fact many lives will have to be lost, who is prepare to lose their loved ones over a shot in the dark?
Also little is still known of the virus, it can mutate and immunity is not guaranteed. We don’t know if you can become infected again either.
We have empirical data from China, Singapore, South Korea and places in Italy that isolation, leading to suppression of cases is the way forward. In the meantime the world hurries for a vaccine which is on the horizon.
I wouldn’t want to be in the Netherlands now..

I can call it a mass suicide. People with such thought of "Herd Immunity" do have a lot of plans for the world as well and these gangs are way beyond conspiracy theories. These Gangs do believe in such immunity type because if failed, at-least there will be reduced population which will ease the burden upon country. H1N1 has a very high transmission rate.

Globally, according to WHO, 2 billion people were infected.

500 thousand were dead.

The second thanks to modern medicine was only approximately 575000 but with a higher mortality rate.

Only time will tell who is right. Herd immunity or knee jerk reactions by total shut down. The evolutionary pressures followed by natural selection process determine the survival ratio. Immune gets stronger only when the patient survives. Since this Virus affects lungs, there is real danger and no guarantee in this case. Instead of quarantine & limiting the impact, herd immunity is like exposing everyone while playing a bet that some or most will survive. In the end, a bet is bet based upon luck.

The deaths would be totally unacceptable and the NHS would be overwhelmed many times over.

Government estimates that around 85,000 of people are now affected and we need to go with their figures as they have the most knowledge and data.

Yes, the idea of herd immunity is stupid considering only a part of the population has it and it’s spreading fast. Ok that sounds like good news then, my information was they are still following it because they took their time in closing schools, universities, pubs and clubs. They let it spread on purpose.

Still pubs, restaurants are open for takeout and people are still going each other houses for meet ups, supermarkets,corner shops are still open so the 85000 people which are infected are easily spreading the virus. Flights are still open and no strict checking done st the airports.

I think among the places where I read there is government restrictions, restaurants are open in those places for takeout (I am not sure about Italy though)

No Pakistan can't. There will be mass deaths, in millions. Pakistan should try to keep the numbers at minimum until some vaccination is developed.
