DSP among three policemen killed in DI Khan, Peshawar

DI Khan/PESHAWAR, 30 June: A Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) among three policemen were killed in separate incidents of target killing and bomb explosion in Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar on Thursday.

According to police, Noor Muhamad Jan, a DSP of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), was gunned down by unidentified armed men on Diyal road in DI Khan. CTD has been actively involved in catching the militants as it has arrested dozens of militants and criminals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province over the last two years and so.

The funeral prayer of the slain DSP was offered in DI Khan Police Line on Thursday evening.

Earlier in the day unidentified gunmen shot dead a cop of Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) in Madina Colony of Dera Ismail Khan.

Police ssaid the policeman Shahzeb was going through Madina Colony when unknown assailants opened fire on him as a result of which he died on the spot .

Police added that Shahzeb had migrated from South Waziristan Agency and remained a volunteer of peace committee in the agency before joing police force.

Meanwhile a policeman deputed on the security of a judge’s house was killed in a nearby bomb blast that hit a car in Peshawar on Thursday.
