This article bears no information about whether the victims of this drone strike were innocent civilians or terrorists. Furthermore even if they were terrorists our first, primary concern should be the militants and terrorists of Hakimullah Mehsud. The US drone strikes target the wrong enemy revealing our differing priorities.
Pakistan wants to eliminate the Pakistani Taliban or the TTP, US on the other hand is more concerned about the Haqqani's, Bahawal Khans, Hekmatyars and Gul Bahadur's. These militant groups particularly target the United States.
Its amazing that our forces can sweep into the heart of Wana to arrest a certain commander Qasim who is wanted by the US but can't eliminate those that pose a direct threat to our existance like Hakimullah Mehsud.
We need to set our priorities and target the militants we need to target. Fertilizer was banned in the northwest but on the insistance of the US, not because we wanted to stop the militants. It is unfortunate that we do not have our own interests in mind and only attack militants when ordered to do so. The TTP poses a dire threat to the existance of Pakistan, yet we have made no effort to eliminate the Taliban. Not a single top commander of the TTP has been arrested or eliminated by us.
