Drone strike kills 8 suspects in North Waziristan Agency

Peshawar- While the Operation Zarb-e-Azb was advancing successfully in the restive North Waziristan agency yielding positive results in the elimination of terrorism from the region, the American drones again struck in Datta Khel Tehsil of North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday.

“At least 8 people were killed in a drone strike near Pak-Afghan border in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan,” security source said. The drone fired four missiles targeting a house and a car. According to sources, the death toll is feared to rise. This is 4th US drone strike amid Pak army started military operation Zarb-e-Azb in N. Waziristan.

Pakistan has denied that it has sought any help from US or any other NATO country in ongoing operation. The ISPR says North Waziristan Agency has been isolated by deploying troops along the border with neighboring agencies and FATA regions to block any move of terrorists in and out of the agency. Troops have cordoned off all terrorist bases including Mirali and Miranshah. As this was the fourth missile attack since the initiation of the military operation in the NWA on June 15 last.

The military heads and the Pakistan’s foreign office had strongly condemned the missiles hit by the American planes during the Operation Zarb-e-Azb saying the same that could harm the grand military operation that was going on effectively.

army is actually requesting such strikes. this hypocrisy must end. military heads only respond through ISPR and there is no statement that I am aware of on this one

Why is there such a basic disconnect in formulating such an important aspect of national policy?

Sir, my question is deeper than just the PMLN policies: Why should there be such a difference between an elected government and its own Army on such matters of national importance? "What we've got here is failure to communicate" and it won't be long before Luke is shot dead if this goes on, as it seems to be doing.
