DRDO to roll out own fifth-generation fighter

Is going to be inducted in next two months when JF-17 is already operational with a squadron.

Ohh and the indigenous "kaveri" engines are not ready either!

But Tejas is one hell of a good looking fighter only next to EF-2000!

please don't compare tejas with jf-17. tejas is build by india and your jf-17 is build by china. when you will be success in your own indigenous aircraft than you compare it with tejas. actually you r at least 15 year behind india. india has capability to build fighter aircraft and you don't have. as i know there is no plan by pak govt to build own indigenous aircraft.

True. N-PAKFA/FGFA is the way into future since IN has already shown interest in Su-33. I also saw on Wikipedia as well as an AMCA news report that Navy might be a potential customer of AMCA. But if that's the case then why did IN issue an RFI for foreign 4.5th gen naval fighters? This is confusing me.

Actually RFI for 4.5 gen fighters was issued by navy for IAC 2 which will be named INS Vishal [ a CATOBAR aircraft carrier over 65000 tonne ].it will be commisioned in 2017.....mix of MIG 29 K and LCA tejas will be operated from INS vikramaditya and INS vikrant......AMCA is still in designing face.......navy version will be considered after air force version becomes a reality.....so long way to go brother.....till then we need a set of aircraft which can be operated from this heavy CATOBAR aircraft carrier....fighters such as F 18 , or gripen or rafale......

hoooo nooo now be ready to take the bulling of 100 internet warriors who will be pounding on you .. your claim JF17 has non indigenous is refuted here because they have provided substantial contribution in building it .. While Tejas and Dhurv are non indigenous because they contain foreign components ... be ready buddy ..

Why not?... it took the rest of the world 30 years to catch up with stealth, its easier once you get the ball rolling, I think India its way ahead than china, and after getting their feet wet with their native 5th gen it could take them about 15 years to build a 6th gen after U.S.A induct theirs....

Why not?... it took the rest of the world 30 years to catch up with stealth, its easier once you get the ball rolling, I think India its way ahead than china, and after getting their feet wet with their native 5th gen it could take them about 15 years to build a 6th gen after U.S.A induct theirs....
