No mostly North Indians (Kashmir to Maha and Gujarat to Bengal) use "Hinglish" in Group even out side of India,while South Indians mostly Use Pure English to communicate in their Groups. this is one of the main reason why North Indians and Pakistanis from Eastern Regions mostly Stay To gather/ or in Group because they can Communicate with each other in both Hinglish and English.

it's like Punjabi,Sindhi vs Pushtun and Balouch divide in Pakistanis. Purely Cultural not Racial.

All these factors makes me more comfortable with South Indians than Pakistanis which is few 100 km from my home.

Race is not a factor for nation states,it never was for example Sikh Regiment has been commanded by a South Indian and Gurkhas under a Sikh also Hindustani Musalman.

Even the greatest empires in the history couldn't keep their borders stable for a 100years. India or any country will not be an exception to this rule, who is going to break and when? Is the only question.

This guy needs to correct some factual errors in his article first.
There was no mass migration indicating nobody was driven down from North.

Could South India ever become an independent state?

And I can not figure a reason why South Indians need to demand it.
If this ever happens, north India will become a landlocked place with most of its ports in south India. This will effect the trade and economy and finally the upper part of subcontinent might perpetually be caught up in a war with south India.
