Regarding Lal Masjid operation and similar situation. The people of Pakistan need to decide:
1) if the people are holding protests and not listening, what should the state do? should the government launch operation to kill them?
2) if the people are protesting and are holding sticks, blocking roads, what should the state do? Kill them?
3) if people are protesting but are armed with weapons then what should the state do?
In my opinion the people have every right to protest, yes protesters at times burn tyres, block roads, traffic, even hold sticks because the Pakistani police is brutal but what can they do when the government is not listening, is busy in corruption.
However if the protesters are armed with weapons, machine guns then this is too much, Lal Masjid had militants inside the complex, they were all armed, they declined to leave or give up their weapons. It was a difficult situation.
I watched this documentary during Lal Masjid operation time. The journalist goes inside the lal Masjid and speaks with the people. Abdul Rashid Ghazi seemed like a person you could have negotiated with and ended this situation without any violence. Their demands were genuine though, they wanted to stop the brothels and music shops. Isn't the name of the nation, Islamic State of Pakistan.
