Chongqing takes measures to handle with congestion before National Day


Tourists walk on a transparent horsehoe-shaped cantilever bridge at the Yunyang Longgang Geological Park in Chongqing, southwest China, Sept. 28, 2015. The visits to the cantilever bridge have kept hot since the end of September, with its daily reception reaching a peak of 30,000 people, five times more than its normal reception of 6,000 people. As the National Day holiday is coming, which falls on Oct. 1-7, local government has taken several measures to handle with the congestion, including expanding parking lots and maintaining accommodation reception capacity nearby. 10,000 Persimmons to Make National Flag for Birthday of Mother China

October 1, 2015 is the 66th birthday of the People's Republic of China. Tourists and peasants in Poyang County of Jiangxi Province collected over 10,000 persimmons to form the shape of Chinese flag on September 29, 2015, , as a way of honoring the national holiday. The local peasants who are living a more prosperous life than before took this opportunity to express patriotism.

China's National Day falls on Oct. 1. On Sept. 27, 66 national flags were hung on the ancient Great Wall in Xinzhong Town, central China’s Henan Province, to celebrate the National Day.

According to the local people, the section of the Great Wall was a key military site in Ming and Qing dynasties.

BEIJING, Sept. 30 -- Chinese President Xi Jinpingand other senior leaders attended a ceremony Wednesday at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing to honor and remember deceased national heroes on Martyrs' Day.
Martyrs, as defined by the government, are "people who sacrificed their lives for national independence and prosperity, as well as the welfare of people in modern times, or after the First Opium War."

Nation's Flag on the Steets of Guilin

October 1 is celebrated to commemorate the founding of People's Republic of China with activities held nation wide followed by a vacation called "Golden Week".
