Don't underestimate Pakistan's relationship with Iran - TRT World

In my list there are only two terrorist regimes in order -

  • India ~ look what they are doing to Kashmiri's.
  • Israel ~ look what they are doing to Palestinians.
You, of course want to deflect from that and focus on Iran. Sure Mossad's is not paying you for this Israeli propaganda?

For a moment i will agree with you...So what do you say about the way Pakistan treats its own insurgents of Western provice???How about the way Taliban treats its people in Afganistan???How about China treats its Muslim majority people in Western province and Tibet???

Terrorism is can not be seen in the context of specific objective...We should address it in a broad way...

No. Saudi Arabia offers more material benefit. We should side with them.

I agree with you..In general, same situation from India’s perspective too...Iran has good support among Non Muslims in India..But the India is not really getting any tangible benifit if we are alligning with Iran in transactional level too...Gulf provides billion dollar economic support to our people and off late Gulf leaders are supporting us in our trade and investmennt..Where as Iran is still playing a hard bargain in trade with different nations..

My objective is to make sure, our international relation should be tested based on pragmatism...So calling our one country bad for others may be appkicable for one country..but it is true across the board..

The current regime of Iran has the same supremacist complex of the old Iran, but without the same level of efficiency. As a result, they make one of the worst allies imaginable.

Its seems this troll who is posing as a Dane really gets riled up when someone mentions Iran as for Pakistani foreign policy balancing ties between Tehran and Riyadh is prequeste to stability of Pakistan can't afford to antagonize both

I am not being unreasonable but alliance is actully with people who some what wish good upon you. I just don't see that from Tehren who have more or so introduced itself as an enemy but nontheless the truth of the matter. But pushing it's garbage in neighbouring countries thinking this will fly. They never realized the broader consequences this will have. The world is a simple place who ever throws a stone at your house is on your target list

Iran was our friend during the reign of the Shah. But the current regime is nowhere near as friendly, and cannot benefit us as much as the Shah could.
The shah was also a puppet of the US.
The US itself was allied with Pakistan back then to fight off the Soviet Union and soviet-backed-India back then. While China was not a threat.
Today there is no Soviet Union and only China is left to oppose US hegemony. Since the Soviet Collapse, India has been getting closer and closer each year to the US. While Pakistan is getting closer and closer to America's last major Rival, China.
Eventually the US puppet shah would of turned against Pakistan, Just like the US eventually did.
Iran today isnt perfect, but it has an amazing relationship with China. Something that wouldnt have been possible under a US puppet Iran, the Shah who was also hardcore anti communist.

What better litmus test than to judge whether Pakistan will march to its own tune and proceed with the IP pipeline for the energy it direly needs?
Unfair and hypocritical dont you think?
This warrants sanctions and what a way of marching to our own tune than getting sanctioned, right?

The fact that Pakistan will not proceed with the IP pipeline is simply one more things that shows that Pakistan is firmly in the Saudi camp. It has made its choices clear in many ways already.

my sympathize are with Iranians who are suffering from extra ordinary inflation and deadly floods, hope we have sane flourishing Iran (without any sanctions) which benefit Pakistan and region more then this sectarian terrorist rogue regime..

Someone need to give you positive ratings for this post.

The difference is those regions are not occupied nor disputed. They share similarity with Khalistan, Hyderabad Deccan, assam, nagaland, manipur, etc of India.

According to the book Pan-Islamic Connections, edited by Christophe Jaffrelot and Laurence Louer, Persia was more critical to the development of Indian Islam than the Gulf, which only became influential in the post-war era when oil wealth enabled Arab states to disseminate their hardline interpretation of Sunni Islam.

Some points which should be clarified.

The safavids were a mixture of Shia and sunni until Ismail the first forcibly converted people to Shia Islam. They were also sufism.

Islam in the Arab world was mainstream sunni Islam until 200 years ago.
