So much of Media and Judiciary these days. This Hamid Mir should first clear his name from his alleged involvement in Khalid Khwaja's murder and his connection with the TTP. And, oh.. wait a minute! Good. There are better things to discuss like target killing in Karachi and these ullu ka pathas like Hamid Mir are busy discussing something lam like this Asghar khan case.

On average 10 people are killed here in Karachi, whole Karachi is under the grip of fear and harassment and Hamid Mir is busy conducting programs on lame topics.

I don't see anything wrong with that - It is a very strong institution therefore it must be respected and not maligned. We don't it to become like other government Institutions (Wapda etc..)..leader no matter how much rubbish you spout against Army..the masses will still support Army - the only thing you do by spreading this anti army bs is taking away the votes from Imran Khan. Media has now taken it too far IMO. Innocent until proved guilty does not hold in the media's case, which goes trigger happy in any incident and paints a big target on the back of people who even are sometimes innocent. Case in point, Hussain Haqqani. In no way am I defending him, he should be dealt with, but at the first rumor, he was declared guilty. This is just an example, there are many others in which the media distorts the public opinion.

Although Hamid Mir tries his best to argue the case that media presents the full story, and only the truth, sadly that is not the case Mr Mir. Media has a big hand in manipulating public opinion, so it should act more responsibly, and show both sides of the picture, and act as a neutral, rather than take sides and be biased.

Talking about talk shows, I have got fed up of these. A couple of folks barking away at eachother (Faisal Raza, the former JIAP baggage handler (forgot his name), Sharmila Farooqi, etc etc) instead of putting forward a constructive debate and putting forward a solution, keep on labelling blames at eachother.

Instead of politicians all the time, more scientists, sociologists, educationists should be brought forward in these shows, so that atleast we can have a good debate. If politicians are to be called, then the sensible ones like some PTI folks, or Khwaja Saad Rafique etc. Cases underway in court should not be brought into talk shows, this could serve to manipulate the outcome.

Before some folks start bashing me, I am not advocating a ban on media, and a ban on criticism of institutions.

That's a worse topic. Watching the target killers themselves accuse others of target killing is extremely frustrating and not at all contructive.

I have been maintaining all along that nothing is going to happen to the two generals. This is Pakistan. The generals can get away with breaking up the country. No accountability. Not questions asked. First time a Supreme Court has pulled them aside and asked FIA to proceed against them. Very right move, but it will be scuttled.

Thats the only reason army chief came out and spoke publicly. he does not speak against drones publicly!
