Don’t call America a democracy, call it a plutocracy

US was a democracy before "citizens united " supreme court decision. back then, it was illegal to spend or donate more than $5,000 to any candidate. so the success of a politician and his re-election vested solely on how happy his constituents were . when supreme court gave decision equivocating spending money as freedom of speech. the dynamics changed and the success of politician vested only on how much could he raise and the how much money an opposing business spend on his negative campaign. that meant lobbyist now had an upper hand threating to spend loads of money on negative campaign if their interests werent aligned with the politician

Bernie sanders wanted to overturn the citizens united case. sadly he wasnt elected
Bernie got rigged in 2016, now once again. It's called complicity of elites.

US democracy is an illusion.

Of the Rich, For the Rich, By the Rich.

Bezos's fortune doubled/tripped.

Perfect example how the super rich looted US ordinary people by paying ZERO tax.

.
The research concluded that average citizens – including all of us here at WSU – actually have little to no independent influence.

Yes, but they have immense influence COLLECTIVELY.

Then how come bottom 50% income Americans salary decreased in past 30 years? while US economy increased so much.

Basically the fruit of US economy increase picked by the upper class, the 1%, or 0.1% to be specific.

If the majority of US citizens have immense influence COLLECTIVELY as you claimed, how come no changes in past 30 years?

Take Occupy Wall Street for example, the super rich robbed US, while the ordinary US citizens bail them out by increasing federal debt. The super rich in Wall Street got tremendous annual end bonus in 2008, for what? For the disaster they created?

The majority of US citizens have influence COLLECTIVELY only on things don't matter.
The majority of US citizens have zero to none influence COLLECTIVELY on the damn money.

What do you mean no changes in the last thirty years:

Furthermore, the people get to decide on their government every fours years collectively. Sounds like a pretty influential power to me.

71Percent Chinese believe that China is a democracy. If China is a democracy, US and democracy can be anything else but democracy.

US is democracy of super rich only.

This is a PRINCETON UNIVERSITY publication looking at actual US policy data. It has nothing to do with Chinese propaganda. The article is spot on.

The article is from the student newspaper of Washington State University, not Princeton University.
The Chinese propaganda machine is desperately pumping nonsense, now that the vast majority of the world disgust them.

More like scraping the bottom of the barrel. This is what you get when you let trolls have access to Google.

Isn't it strange that the People's Republic of China, solely governed by the Communist Party of China, whose ideological foundation is Marxism-Leninism-Maoism is second to the US in the number of millionaires. And to be a millionaire, does not have to join the CPC? I don't know about you, but it's China that is turning into a plutocracy.

China also lifted 800 million people out of poverty in the past 30 years. Most Chinese millionaires build up their business from nothing, they created more fortune,

While India on the other hands still have the legacy of landlords, Brahman, they have privilege to get more fortune by unfair competition or monopoly or crony.

Most India super rich don't give a fcuk about the poor, they get the money, immigrant to the west, just like you.

What's why India is India today, while China is China today.

Huge difference.
