The Indian style parliamentary democracy do not work for such a big country as India. And indeed there is a massive poor and poverty in India.

From Wikipedia, 96% of Indians get by with less than $5 per day. They must be more worry about food and clothing. How can we expect anything more from them.

Just go to the Google Map, and see India. Yes the green you see in the images are the tropical rain forests which exist because of the Monsoon. Now imagine, the map without the greenery. If that kind of vegetation disappears resulting in the desertification of the landscape, population will overnight reduce from one billion to a few thousands perhaps, if some manage to survive.

Yes wikipedia is very authentic source when it is showing something negative about India.
Ok say 96% of indians earn less than 5$ per day 5*30 = 150$ = 7500-9000.
Average house hold need in villages is about 5000-6000 Rs and in cities -8000-10000.

So the kinda poor you want to make out if that is just your wet dream.
There are poor people in india and poverty is indeed a problem but saying 96% percent are poor then the remaining 4 % owns the rest of economy !!!!

are you aware of the term TAX !!! Help yourself with your beloved wiki to find the actual amount of Tax collected in India and who are entitled to pay tax just to tell you non-taxable income is 110000 p.a.
