What's new

Do you cook ?

Do you make roti on your own.. its was most boring part i came while cooking at room...but i like to make "Bhakri"...
I make roti too, but rarely. There's a community kitchen kind of thing nearby, I usually get my roti from there.

I make stuffed parathas in the weekend. All kind of stuffings, alu, gobi, paneer etc etc.

That is not sharing !!!

Ohh.. he is asking levina..
I'm no "ma'm".

Frozen Pizza.
Try out with breads (now that you have a new oven as u mentioned).
I purchased a humble OTG oven about 3 years back and now i've learnt to bake breads quite decently. All you need is some good quality fresh yeast (even dried out would do) and some understanding of proofing the dough. Here is a focaccia bread i once baked.

Can't say about others, but my kids are in awe.

The Butter chicken that they serve in restaurants here look different too. I added a bit cream too, but I guess it went down.

Presentation plays a big role in restaurants.

Cooking looks really interesting, but I think it's difficult, so I never bothered.....

I agree with him, non veg food is tough to get but we had an option at IIMA in our mess for non veg thankfully.

Btw there are restaurants at SG highway - Mirchis I think. Then there was Zaika. In old amdavad there are plenty of options specially at night time, it's like the area near jama masjid in Delhi so some people may not want to go there because of obvious reasons chief of them being beef.

If you want to go upscale there is Upper Crust - Pretty good Italian. Tomato and Pleasure trove

Then there are snack corners like R.K omlet where the restaurant is actually shaped like an egg :)

But all in all very few options as most are pure veg, some only serve Jain food that means no onions :(

@Rau
Thanks ... i dont wanted to try near Jama Masjid...
as i stay at Pralhad nagar...i can try Mirchis but on Zomato it shown its in Maninagar, can you gives specific address

started as a necessity for me..hahaha...
Now it has turned into a hobby. I have a friend of mine staying next door, and we have a cook actually. She cooks for both of us in my friend's apartment. But sometimes, I like cooking for myself, friends and family :)

Well my dad is a really good cook, but the servant usually cooks. My mom is just like me, but she's amazing in baking. Baking is the future for me. :)

Ok dude, always happy to help

It was in Sumel Complex, near GNFC tower. The name of the restaurant was Mirch Masala to be exact, we just called it Mirchis in college so it came out like that. Pretty good non veg for amdavad but don't compare it to other cities. Not sure if it is still open as it has been many years since I graduated and left amdavad

There you go have fun!!

aww...I wish I could make some for you.. I'm sure you can find some in sweet shops in your place ?

The picture below is of a sweet shop, which I personally consider the best in India, K.C. Das.

It's in the city of Kolkata, Esplanade, very old place.
