What's new

Do you consider Pakistan to be a Middle-Eastern nation?

since majority population is in east of indus and urdu was born in north india, culturally that makes Pakistan more south asian imo
Not disagreeing with you but people think Urdu is like the language of Pakistan

Eventhough it's isn't, yes people speak it as go between language but more than 90% do not speak it as thier native language, even some Muhajir groups don't speak it as a native language

So I feel somewhere role of Urdu is also a bit exadurated if you're looking into Paksitan as an outsider

Quaid-e-azam should have made Farsi (Dari, not Irani) as the national language instead of Urdu.

I think you meant South Asian nation. But we are very different to the Indians
Trust me, we are the same people as North Indians(upto quite good extent, not completely). But yes, in last 70 years, a Close proximity with Afghanistan and Iran might have changed us a little, and this change will be more visible in next 100 years. But culturally we are nearer to Indians than to anyone in the world. Founders of Pakistan tried their level best to make us different from Indians, but even they never tried to tell us that what was real cause of making Pakistan. The real cause was survival in the presence of a brutal force whose slogan was : Shudhi(purification or conversion of Muslims back to Hinduism) and ghar wapsi.
We didn't make Pakistan because we were different or we hated hindus. But our learned elders already knew what is coming in next few years.
After the creation of Pakistan, hindu extremist forces kept quite, but they purposely weakened Muslims of India so that they don't demand another Pakistan. Then the last standing Muslims of Gujrat were erased from the face of India, and then came the real face of hindutva out from behind the curtain.
Two nation theory should be translated as: we are ready to live hindus as before, but hindus will not accept this and will try to convert us, so let's take a different path.

Banglas would have been butt hurt like no tomorrow

But it would have been difficult for majority of the country to learn dari compared to I guess Urdu, also the people who made Pakistan spoke Urdu and Bangali

So they impose thier language on the rest of us...

But our accents would have been mad sexy, the only reason I like Farsi speaking woman after ofcourse Punjabis 😁

. .
why not start now? adopt farsi as a second language alongside urdu.
Yes Urdu, English and add Farsi to the mix

All day learn languages instead of something useful 😁

I think for a kid it'll be much easier to learn farsi compared to English

When hearing Farsi after every couple of seconds you can understand the word

Or you can pick a language that in only found in Pakistan not in the neighboring countries and adopt that as national language

Bengalis were upset about Urdu aswell so won't have made any difference and Quaid-e-azam spoke gujrati. However before the British came Farsi Dari was the official language of our area for centuries. The British had banned speaking of the language after the conquered.

Sindhi is also spoken in Rajasthan and North Gujrat in India

Lol at the last part, so no local Pak language?

Honestly I wouldn't have mind making Dari national instead of Urdu

But I guess it's too late for something like that to happen now, but if our relationship with Iran improves to the point where we become very close Allies

Maybe just maybe I can see hope for Dari in Paksitan

There is no doubt, Pakistanis are "Mix of Middle Eastern".
When some say that Afghans and Persian heritage, that basically means the same.

Take Urdu language, you can pick its words and they would all have Middle Eastern origins.
Hindi was only used for grammatical purposes, rest the root words are all either Arabic, Persian or Turkic.

Similarly, pick Pakistani cuisine, you can trace their origins to Middle East. Once again, Arabic, Persian and Turkic origins.

Take complexion, that too has more to do with the Middle East than India.

So , why Pakistanis are not Middle Eastern!!

I mean ofcourse we have influences but it's mostly indo-centric in nature

Pakistan is a South Central Asian nation. South Central Asia, on its East, ends at Indian Punjab+Haryana and IoK.

Starting with Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan the genetic landscape changes dramatically. Though there's significant number of lower castes in Punjab who are similar to people in UP and Rajasthan.
