Do you agree with my thoughts on 'independency of mind '?

Independent Thinking versus Critical Thinking?

Screw Independent thinking and thinkers!

"Critical Thinking consists of mental processes of discernment, analysis and evaluation, especially as it relates to what we hear by way of points that are raised or issues which are put forward for discussion. It includes the process of reflecting upon a tangible or intangible item in order to form a sound judgment that reconciles evidence with common sense. Hence, Critical Thinking is most successful when it effectively blends our natural senses or feelings with our logic and intuition, all applied in a systematic manner."

I want to have my share of say on the thought I'm a strict follower of i. e ' Independency of mind ' . If we think over the definition of this word, it comes off as the state of mind that permits the person to have his own thoughts and beliefs without being affected by external judgements therefore, allowing the person to practice objectivity in thought development with integrity and grace .

If I were to chose the reforms to this nation's educational successes then I'll be wholeheartedly selecting ' Independency of mind ' to be practiced among our students in the educational process . Our educational system is full of flaws , dependency and bounding the mind is one of them . We do teach our future heroes the literature that's needed but unfortunately we're poor at developing their skills to formulate their own beliefs and thoughts or to let them practice their own way of thinking . The most worst is the fact that our educational teachers disown this independency of mind among students, it's like restricting them and dictating them to think what teachers want them to .

Independency of mind allows you to get whole new set of ideas , facts , changes and notions you learn from the world in your mind and then having the independency to conclude what is to be followed , agreed and what is to be disagreed and be cautious of , respectfully . Independency of mind enables us to arrive at our own beliefs , convictions and voice of our own so that we can truly think , believe and speak for our own selves . It's the acceptance of these all new things that's taking place in the world around us and it's as , not to be prejudiced and diffident towards the changes .

Unfortunately, in our soceity such independency is condemned to the core cause of our intolerance , religious bigotry , conservatism , insecurities and illiteracy that's why we see uproar against a person who holds a distinct views of thought , mashal khan being one of them .

It's one of the serious flaw of our educational system that we're taught to glorify an arab invader , muhammad bin qasim as our hero when infact his services are that of an invader and are not that of a hero. Furthermore , such doubts on him are discouraged and not allowed to be spoken in the educational institutes .. why ?? Cause we don't allow the independency of thoughts on several topics , religion being one of them . By showing our fears on religious topics , we come off as an insecure nation that has serious complexes to face .

If we are not gonna allow our students to have the independency of mind then how do you expect new ways of successes of this nation ? Or we still gonna follow the 17th century traditions and be a cavemen ? Do you not care to modify your thinking and learn new things ? Do you not care to apply logic and rationality in your lives ? Do you not care to transform your lives?
Think over it !

Do you think I'm going right way ?

@El Sidd @Joe Shearer @Kaptaan @HannibalBarca

to be honest, you can never be truly independent and unique as a human, you learn from experiences and you can never be the first person to have that experience. it can be new to you but not for human race. whatever logic or basis of your conclusions will be, that will be based on your knowledge gained by interaction with others and your research and study, hence your decisions will be based on that. so you built your thought process after reading and learning and on one way or the other you will be following a school of thought.

For example, if same thing your friend told you, you will react differently as compare to mother etc. why? may be you already perceived that, friend is telling you to help in whatever way and you can have a constructive discussion but mother wants to control you.

Unfortunately, in our soceity such independency is condemned to the core cause of our intolerance , religious bigotry , conservatism , insecurities and illiteracy that's why we see uproar against a person who holds a distinct views of thought , mashal khan being one of them .

don't you think that, all the above mentioned issues are because of independency of each person and each is practicing their right to form a view in a certain way how their thought process taught them? in a similar manner how your research and study enabled you to have your own opinion?

I hope you could understand my poor English and sada ganwar simple style.

Understand something, we, as human beings, do NOT live in a vacuum. Every single thing that we do is a result of some thought that we have had. It effects those around you one way or another. So sista, JUDGING there SHALL be! For example, a guy can have the freedom to think and express that he should be able to have sex with children. Although he is free to think whatever the heck he wants, will I judge him? OF COURSE I will judge him. My judging will be clearly evident by me keep my children far away from him and ensuring that he never comes within a hundred miles of where I live. Case in point, freedom of thought is not without consequences and nor is it without judging. We are alive, we have a mind and therefore, WE JUDGE. Even the most ultra liberal purple with pink or purple hair JUDGE everything and everyone around them and don't even know that they are judging since they claim to not judge. I call that pure ignorance. We live and so we judge. Everyone has the right to freedom of thought but only and ONLY certain level of maturity has been achieved, NOT before. And even then, one must be ready to defend and justify their thoughts and ideas against criticism WHILE being humble enough to admit when their thoughts have been proven to be erroneous. Replace humility with egoism then their is bound to be a clash of thoughts that can potentially lead to disastrous results. You brought up Mohammed bin Qasim and asked why is portrayed as a hero and not an invader? Well sista, one man's invader IS another man's hero. You said that he invaded us. "Us". Dare I say, how dare you? I own him as one of my own and am for one actually GLAD that he invaded. You call him an invader without giving a second thought to WHY he invaded, what he invaded and who he invaded. If the hindu pirates capturing our female traders and their cargo ships is not a good enough reason to invade then is female sacrifice good reason to invade? Is burning a widow with the body of her dead husband good enough reason to invade? Is subjugation and enslavement of supposedly inferior castes a good enough reason to invade? There is a reason why those who still support the fore mentioned diseases still lament invasion led by Mohammed bin Qasim, they can't do the injustice they used to do since there was a new sheriff in town. Had he not invaded, I may not have been here today typing this and you may not have been here today reading this. So freedom of thought must be ready to justify itself on MERIT and back itself up with EVIDENCE. After all, there is a reason why Allah keeps demanding evidence from the unbelievers for their claims and keeps asking them why they don't think. My two cents...
