In 2016, DJI had sales of $1.47 billion.
DJI sees jump in revenue | China Daily (December 13, 2016)
"DJI, China's largest commercial drone manufacturer, is confident its revenue this year will surge by 60 percent to 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion), thanks to the expansion of its production line, according to its vice-president."
For 2017, DJI sales have increased to $2.7 billion.
DJI's jump in yearly revenues stands in stark contrast to GoPro's decision to exit the drone business.
DJI has now crushed two American competitors. 3D Robotics had spent $100 million to compete against DJI. 3D Robotics lost the drone war. GoPro's Karma had no sensors and was never a match for DJI's sensor-laden Mavic Pro.
Behind The Crash Of 3D Robotics, North America's Most Promising Drone Company | Forbes
"Oct 5, 2016 - 3D Robotics had raised nearly $100 million and wanted to build the perfect consumer drone. That effort nearly destroyed the company."
If no American company emerges to challenge DJI then it could be smooth sailing from here on out. DJI's revenues could keep climbing for years to come.
