We are suppose to believe that weird videos off of youtube are played on daytime U.S TV, just because you say they are?

Anyway, if they are, i see no problem with it. The videos are from political parties, and anyone can create a political party that stands for anything they want.

I can fully understand that you don't get the concept of democracy and free speech because you are from China/North Korea., but in a democratic country, anyone can stand for anything.

If i wanted to, i could make a political party and campaign for my country to ban people wearing clothes and make it a law that everyone must wear a party hat. I can stand for whatever i want.

Not much worse than Chinese generals to Chinese media, and about as effective. Those who support whats said already believe it, those who don't will likely not change their opinions, though they may search for more on the issues.

Crap and politics (same thing?) has always existed in the media around the world, Pakistan, China, the UK, India, the US etc.

Xdrive- the Uk's monster raving loony party is a pretty notable example for UK democracy.

An american soldier , released some truthful videos on wikileaks - the estabilishment put him in prison ... so much for free speech.

these are subliminal attacks on the nation. i think if adds like these are frequently broadcasted on a media then the war on iran is surely INEXORABLE now.

For civilians and retired soldiers, yes. But when you join the armed forces of any country, you pretty much sign away your right to free speech. In the armed forces, you have to respect your superiors and such.

What he did is right. However, it goes against what he signed up for and hence he is being punished. Its only natural for the military to persecute him.

Actually the media is controlled by the chinese government, so you won't see "warmongering" on any of the media channels.

All of the "chinese general says X" news stories comes from Indian newspapers

And YES THESE COMMERCIALS HAVE BEEN PLAYED ON TELEVISION

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0609/23463.html

The 30-second ad, called “Unclenched Fist,” is to begin Tuesday on cable news stations.

“This is Iran,” the narrator says. “Young, vibrant — a people Americans have no quarrel with. Unfortunately, this is also Iran — radical rulers seeking nuclear weapons, threatening the world.

“Americans can do something about it. We can put economic pressure on the Iranian regime — pressure to keep them from building a nuclear arsenal. And that will ensure security — for all of us.”

Also Russia today talks about one of the commercials being played

And I'm sure you would say the same thing if an ISI member released thousands of classified papers, you would find it a breach of free speech if he was arrested? Even other journalistic organizations that usually support free speech issues say it was totally irresponsible.

First I have yet to see any of these play on TV. The 3rd one is a bit over the top. The others though are pretty much saying nothing more then what most Americans already believe. And they say nothing more then what America and Europe have been saying publicly for years.

It's illegal to steal information from government departments and release it without authorization. It's fairly obvious you can't, and has nothing to do with free speech.

They would actually have to have free speech in the first place

The external is a reflection of the internal -- The source of the problem is not Iran, it is the nature of political discourse within USA. This discourse is increasingly enemy seeking and enemy making - the preferred enemy Islam and Muslims.

But who benefits from this kind of discourse? Does this make for a better US? So far, US citizenry is rather comfortable in this kind of politics, but some of us have lived through this kind of politicla discourse and it has brought little joy and much unhappiness and danger.

How would the people living in Boulder like, if the entire state of Colorado was evacuated and the people were forced to abandon the homes they'd lived in for generations, and move into refugee camps. Forced by a terrorist group that killed anyone who resisted.

And that terrorist group was backed by a huge superpower that supplied it with the latest weaponry, that superpower even brainwashed it's own people with weird propaganda ads, and didn't do anything against the terrorist occupation group even when the terrorists(Israel) conducted acts of terrorism like attacking US navy ships(USS Liberty incident) and make it look like a 3rd party that the terrorists wanted to get rid of, did it.

The USS Liberty incident isn't even conspiracy stuff, it's a quantifiable truth with the ship's captain and other members of the crew openly going out against Israel, only to be shut up by their own country that ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT prevent freedom of speech or engage in propanda to suit their needs, not at all. I feel sorry for the US people, they have the misfortune of having their opinions manufactured by the most effective propaganda industry in recorded history.

I disagree, There are many things America has looked at when viewing Iran and it's intentions. First there was the Seizing of U.S. hostages from it's Sovereign embassy. Then Iran stating that it wanted to export it's Islamic revolution elsewhere. It later helped to found, train, and support Hezbollah, Launching a protracted proxy war against Israel that lasts to this day.

During the Iran/Iraq war Iran tried to bring shipping traffic to a standstill by laying mines in the Persian gulf, though in the end that tactic failed. it still resulted in many ships being damaged.

Recently you have the actions of Iran's Qud's Force in Iraq trying to destabilize that country in an attempt to bog down the U.S. which failed. As well as the many statements by Iran's Political and religious leaders calling for the end of Israel and stating the U.S. is about to fall.

So in my opinion Iran has only itself to blame in how the world views it's intentions, when it comes to nuclear energy and enrichment. The world based on Iran's past actions has a right to be alarmed.

I would like it about as much as the 600,000 jews living in Islamic Countries that lost their homes and businesses and were forced to abandon the homes they'd lived in for generations, by religious bigots .
