France agrees on something with Turkey? Thats new to me.France says backs idea of creating Syria buffer zone
PARIS, Oct 8 (Reuters) - France said on Wednesday it supported the idea of setting up a buffer zone between Turkey and Syria to create a safe haven for displaced people, President Francois Hollande's office said after he spoke to his Turkish counterpart.
"(The president) insisted on the need to avoid massacres in the north of Syria. He gave his support to the idea proposed by President Erdogan to create a buffer zone between Syria and Turkey to host and protect displaced people," read the statement.
It added that the two countries also agreed on the need to give more support to the moderate Syrian opposition to fight Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Islamic State. (Reporting By John Irish; editing by Mark John)

Ankara adopts new national security strategies against ISIS, PYDOne of the points on the alleged road map is that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) is creating a safe zone in northern Syria to push back ISIS and to allow the FSA control the region. The other option is reportedly lending strong support to the FSA to take control of the regions held by ISIS and those controlled by the PYD. With ISIS and the PYD at its door, Turkey's General Staff and other security officials are reportedly working on scenarios that could erupt when the TSK begins creating the safe zone in Syria.

let's hope the U.S. gives its diplomatic backing, if not this will be one quagmire that will cost the Republic dearly
Its about time, since the west been accusing Turkey for sometime now of not doing anything, but that is a hug task and potentially a dangerous one as well. SO far ISIS haven't attacked Turkey directly but this would change when Turkish forces will engage ISIS.
But at the end of the day Turkey should uphold its national interest and start action when it suits them not because the west wants them to.

What do the scumbag jihadi-loving erDOGan voters have to say about this?
Not gonna happen. Finally some people get their heads out of their arses. Turkey can't do anything. Either they do something and get sanctioned and Istanbul burns, or Turkey just has to accept a new 'state' being created.
