Discussion: How much ready is our armed forces ?

.
Some interesting points -

1. The 3 retired officers all stressed on the point of quality over quantity. As to quote one gentleman here: "its about the man behind the gun who pulls the trigger and not the number of guns you have."

2. The focus on unconventional warfare doctrine. The gentleman on the right just quickly mentioned that our Army has this strategy in priority. As to quote him: "They will come in and come so far, that their return will be in body bags...and body bags are very expensive!"

3. The focus on riverine warfare. The Rear Admiral in the middle mentioned this. This strategy we implemented so well before and is even improved now is disrupting river communication to strand the enemy. Its apparently one of the best we are at.

Interesting discussion. But can not but feel that BD defense doctrine is wrong. Glad these old timers time has passed.

BD needs to be able to take the fight to the enemy. We need to develop offensive capacity. Missiles, submarines and a lethal airforce is the order of the day. Self sufficiency in small arms is not going to cut it.

BD is a fortress country, no country with our population can be invaded and controlled by anyone. However let's not put such hypothesis to test. Let's develop capacity to take the fight into enemies territory so that enemies body bags are full before they come anywhere near us.
