TLDR, We are proud of this diversity within us and I hope we never lose it. What we fail to explain to people is the ideological basis of the nation-state founded by Atatürk. Nobody mentions that Oghuz Turks still maintain the same genetic purity. For us, there may be many ethnicities within the state, such as Kurds, other Turks, Circassians, Arabs, but they represent the nationality of the Turkish state as a whole.

We are not brothers. We are enemies.

You can see me as the enemy. But you are not someone the Turkish nation sees as an enemy. There is equitableness in Turkish culture, no one regards a nation 10 times smaller as its arch-enemy.

Turkish and Greeks are genetically miles apart.

Modern day Turkish nation stems heavily from its Anatolian origin. An area which was subjected to colonialism by Iranic Parsa (Persians) and Medes (Azeris and Kurds), Greeks, Armenians, Byzantines, Oghuz Turkics and what not which is why despite calling themselves Turk sons of Oghuz Khagan, genetically the Turkish are closest to guess whom ... Yes the Iranics and then Armenians ... and and no one else. They have almost no autosomal genetic proximity to their western neighbors in europe.

They are very different from other rather more pure Turkics like Uzbeks so there goes the claim of Oghuz Khan birthing every Turkish national. And despite sharing border and Ottoman grip over Greece for a lot of time, they are heavily different from Greeks, Cypriots too. With the rise of Kurdish birth rate the genetic proximity to Iranians will get even higher for Turkish nation. I do not see a problem with that. These are all warrior nations with glorious pasts.

Since the 19-century there has been murmuring amongst European historians that the Greeks were indeed fathered by Turkish Ottoman who left Greece or the majority of them were indeed identical to the turks.. 400 years is a long time and alot of intermingling occured,,
