I think most people in Bangalore are suckers for Bengali sweets & KC Das probably makes more money here than they do in Kolkata. It's like a major Bangalore institution now.

Their Mysore branch is ALWAYS choc o bloc too. I can't remember the name of the lip smacking creamy white golf ball-sized dessert with pink (rasgulla-like) filling they sell. I swear I'm salivating as I type this.

i hope buses in kolkata have improved since i last visited there 4-5 years ago especially those small Red buses i really had hard time balancing myself standing in it wonder how locals do it even travelling in second class coaches of mumbai locals during rush hours is more easier than that

If you want to eat mishti doi then come to BD. Bogurar Doi is the most famous mishti doi among Bengalis. Its very delicious. Very YUMMY. :D

The best mishti doi is BD's Bogurar Doi. Whenever any Kolkatan comes to BD we treat him with Bogurar doi and Padma Ilish. :D

If they had any sense, they would open an outlet in Bangalore among other Indian cities. The state of Karnataka alone would be a huge market. As K.C.Das knows, the greatest aficionados of Bengali sweets do not only reside in Bengal. You must go to where the market is, expecting the whole market to come to you will get you nowhere.

I just looked up images of Rajbhog, and none of the options that popped up look like what I described. Rajbhog looks just as good, though. :)

It is now customary for marriages in Karnataka to include atleast one "Bangali Sweet" apart from a native sweet. :D

Bow bazaar, Victoria Memorial, China Town breakfast, Flury's puffs and pastries, Ganguram mishti doi, and hard boiled cane candy.

I would also add "Nalen Gurer Rosogolla of Vien" and "Peter Cat's Chelo Kabab"!! :smitten: Actually there are hell lot of delicious foods to eat in Kolkata, Bengalis love to eat good food. :D Where do I get hard boiled cane candy?

That's actually odd that there isn't one in Mumbai, Bangalore has plenty of outlets. Going by the website, more than in Kolkata.

K.C. Das

Super odd. I'd go every other day if there were one in my city. I used to love going to the K.C Das opposite Koshy's/Mandovi motors. I miss those times.

That's because KC Das is not the only option here, Kolkata i full of quality sweet shops. In fact I am not that fond of KC Das. :)

Soon there will be more Bengalis in bangalore than kolkata, we will rename it bongolore!! :P

Ha ha ha ha!!!! Good one!!

Do you know Akshay Kumar worked in a hotel in Dhaka before joining to film? He said it on stage in a Dhaka concert. The hotel is called Hotel.Purbani.

I heard that he also worked in some restaurant in Singapore!!

Yuck, Bengali sweets.: Doi maach, kosha mangsho is all cool but mishti doi and the sweets- NO NO NO! Although my grand-mum still prays that someday I will take a liking to a Bangla mei and thus my diet will change.

Should I post photos of some Bong beauties here?? :D

Have you tried Bengali cuisine, they are also becoming popular. In Kolkata Bengali restaurants are mushrooming everywhere, some have opened shops in "Bongolore" too!! :D

Don't like Bengali women, and I have right to say that before any responds with rancor, I am a bong myself after all.
