Dhaka Seeks Transit to Pakistan via India

. . .
You dont need to decide. We aint taking it...

Then why ask ? Bangaldesh wants the transit to Pakistan and if we are not getting anything in return, we will do it our way and on our conditions.

BD did not ask but a proposal put forward under SAARC framework. Its not that we are dying for it the way you want to go to your NE.

@ Bengalees are already there. As it is estimated near about 25 lacs are Bengalees are settled in Pakistan specially at Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Lahore. Some people says that the whole fisherman of Karachi (Jele) belongs to Bengal origin. May be they settled there since the British times.

@ You forget to mention about the Maree, (Upper Toppa and Lower Toppa), I had been there in a number of occassion. If the rail link is made I definitely will go to Pakistan to see those beautiful places. Side by side I will see to my old school, Cantt Board Sir Syed School & College at Rawalpindi. I still remember some of the name of places of Rawalpindi, like, Sader, Rajabazar, Lalkurti, Chaklala, Freshman Hotel, Shahrazad Hotel etc. But I was very much afraid of underground railway pass, o, it was a complete dark.

@ Some of the Pakistani nuts I like most. These are "Talgoje" and "Akhroot". I still remember in those day(1967-70) there was one lady "Feriwali" wearing "Ghagra" and singing, " Chuare lo akharoot----bajza, tutta, pital ---silver batalo ". To any Pakistani friend, is this singing tone is still prevailing in Rawalpindi street ??????

RWP has changed alot. Specially the places you have named. really congested and big traffic jams.
And there are more than 2 million bengali's specially in karachi. And the interesting thing is if you ask them whether they want to go back home they clearly reject it.

It is BD which wants to trade with Pakistan and not Pakistan which wants to trade with BD. It is going to be one way trade and all the containers have to come back empty. I don't think this trade will survive for too long.

@ Why not ? It is you who only wants to take the juice of Bengal !!!! How selfish you are ? Pakistan needs "Pan" and other related materials, they like some other Bengal fruits specially coconut, pineapple etc.

Shipping or air trade is a better option for bangladesh for now as the volume of trade between bangladesh and pakistan is quite low. Considering this low volume of trade, a sizeable chunk of the profit may be taken by india as tariff. If the trade volume increases then we can ask for transit through india by land

I don't support this Transit deal and neither should any other Pakistani. Pakistan already has a considerable illegal Bangali population in Karachi and the last thing we need is more illegal's pouring into Pakistan by the thousands. We already have around 2 million illegal Bangalis and add to that the 4-5 million Afghan refuges, more illegal immigrants are only going to strain our economy, increase the burden on the infrastructure of our cities and add to the pollution.

I apologize if i offended any Bangalis but this is the reality.

Non taken.

Actually what you say about illegal Bangladeshi immigrants is true. I don't know why this issue, along with other important issues are falling on deaf ears in Bangladesh.
