Dhaka must protest at Delhi’s insulting Bangladesh war narrative

Yeah whatever. Bugger off to the west and cry to the Pakistanis will ya
On the contrary i see only you folks sucking up to their 2000 km long vestigial remnant. You bugger off and remain within your own cocoon in your swampland instead of coveting the NE India.

Then instead of asking part of our swampland... cut open the hill near the airport and make the runway you pleb

Oh please. Give it a rest. The only reason Bangalis have Bangladesh is because of India. There was absolutely no chance for bengalis to create Bangladesh on their own had India not helped them. Don't distort history for your frivolous emotion.
Sheikh Hasina Wajid is pretty aware of this fact hence she regularly kisses hindu ***.
It is the insular minds of west Pakistanis that east Pakistan got separated and made a new country called Bangladesh. Had we ourselves not wished to do so do you really think India could have done anything here? Absolutely not.

It was Yahya Khan and ZA Bhutto who conspired to bring India into the picture in order to save their own necks. Now, you see, guys like you are freely saying that it was India that caused the rift. The two traitors have successfully molded your minds. They must be smiling in their graves.

Do you mean your 45k hungry, bootless, bulletless, coward army was going to subjugate 75 million hostile people for thousands of years in an enemy territory 2000 km away from home base? I think, you should thank your Indian brothers for saving your army from being defeated by an unconventional guerrilla forces had the war continued for some more times. Your Indian brothers were too restless to seize the once in a lifetime opportunity to achieve an easy war victory and taunt you for eternity. Had the war continued for one more year, then your troops would have surrendered to Mukti Bahini alone.
Please, please do not please curse the world's most "Martial Race" soldiers. They also conveniently forgot how the juniormost battalion of the East Bengal Regiment resisted three IA tank attacks through the BRB canal in 1965 war that would have caused General Choudhury of IA to sip the next morning tea in Lahore with his News-Press battalion. After all Hindi-Urdu Bhai Bhai. Same language with two scripts.

In recent times a mostly unarmed population even with greater numbers on their side has been successfully kept in line by force.
The scenario u r arguing could've been true in times like when American Independence happened. This is why u see the second amendment...during those times it was the British Army with muskets vs American militia with muskets. Based on this...the founding fathers included in the Constitution the right to bear arms and to be able to raise a militia if the government becomes a tyrant.
That is a dated concept that no longer works in practice. A militia today would have a hard time going up against a professional army, air force, and navy. That professional military can bomb the militia's location...at will...bomb entire convoys...enjoy complete air superiority...which is just one of the huge advantages that a militia can never hope to nullify. The numbers advantage disappears against strategic and tactical advances like the one described above. In absence of India's interference Mukti Bahini would have a hard time acquiring weapons and training. There would be no naval blockade of IN or aerial opposition of IAF...Pak would be able to resupply food, ammunition, and supplies unopposed through sea and air routes. The naval bases and ports...and airports critical to keep these supply routes open would be heavily guarded. This is assuming a full advantage of the likes of Mukti Bahini and other resistance elements on BD land...where they successfully manage to cut off all local food and supplies to armed forces. It would be a costly affair to keep supplying the troops(abroad in a sense) but doable. In absence of India's patronage of financing this separatist element when compared to the armed forces being backed by a country's economy...Mukti Bahini and other separatist elements would soon run out of juice and be forced to give up. It would end up being like the LTTE movement in Sri Lanka. When LTTE had no external support...it fizzled out.

So in conclusion...for the BD independence to happen...
You guys NEEDED India to finance it
You guys NEEDED India to arm and train Mukti Bahini and other such groups
You guys NEEDED the intel provided by India to carry out sabotage missions
You guys NEEDED India to intervene militarily to gain independence

These things aside...i googled BD population in 1971...and most sources suggest that it was around 65 million. Of these 65 million not all were physically fit young males(and/or females) ready for a fight...this includes everyone the young and old alike. Moreover of those who were able to fight weren't all onboard with the separatist ideology. There was a whole range of thinking from staying with Pakistan on one end to having a separate country on the other end...and everything in between. Many wanted to remain with Pak in the name of Islam or bcuz they wanted to work within the system to bring about change to address any injustices that occurred or be given more autonomy to manage their own affairs...etc. Taking all of that into account...u can see how there was no 75million hostile population u have come up with.

Anyways it is pointless to beat a dead horse. Whatever happened..happened. U can either keep looking back and define ur future on the past tensions and hate or try and move on and build a better relation with Pakistan...looking toward a better more hopeful future...
...and make no mistake(not u particularly but other pro India Bangladeshis) India is not ur friend. They helped out Bangladesh in their hatred towards Pak...and not out of some love for Bangladeshi ppl. India wants to be a regional power(at the very least)...so at least for their neighbors it means that either u stay in line and they dictate u...or if u oppose then u r their enemy. Sooner or later BD will find itself at odds with India...and it would be up to the ppl and ur leaders either to act as a vassal state or otherwise have enough power(militarily) to keep India at bay if u choose ur own path.

It is always the committed few who make the difference. Silent majority only relevant as the provider of the committed people. Independence enjoyed overwhelming support among Bengali people, there is no doubt about it. Otherwise Awami League which campaigned for virtual independence(Six point), would not have secured almost all the seats in East Pakistan, could not paralyzed the whole country when national Assembly session was postponed. You have to see some videos and newspaper article of that times to realize how intense and massive the support was for independence in Bangladesh. At least 95 percent people of Bangladesh either actively fought(joining Mukti Bahini, demonstration, procession etc.) or silently supported independence.

Most of us also want good relation with Pakistan. But please do not insult our liberation war, freedom fighters, independence and sovereignty(by saying such things as ''slave of India''), do not try to whitewash or deny Pak army atrocity in 1971. If these attitude continue from your sides, then it is never possible to reconcile. Not even in thousand years. You can not expect insulting Bangladesh and talking trash about it's liberation war while Bangladeshi people will support and feel warm about Pakistan. This is not realistic. At first cultivate a respectable attitude towards Bangladesh and then expect the reciprocal gesture from us. Just because majority of us detest India does not mean we will automatically cozy-up with you digesting your insulting and disdainful behavior.

I'm not arguing whether or not the majority was for separation. I'm arguing about ur 75million number u got somehow.

First I showed u that according to numerous sources(including that of UN), the population of BD stood at around 65million. This includes the old and the children...and hence not yet ready(or too old) to pick up weapons and fight. On top of this...as I said before...there were other factions who weren't in favor of separation...even if they were a minority. This reduces that number down further. Still though I stacked the odds completely in favor of BD resistance by giving u a scenario in which all of local food and supplies(from present day BD territory that used to be East Pakistan) were cut off to the armed forces of Pakistan...still I showed u how what u so easily portrayed as a win for Mukti Bahini(without Indian support) is far from the truth.
Most of us also want good relation with Pakistan. But please do not insult our liberation war, freedom fighters, independence and sovereignty(by saying such things as ''slave of India''), do not try to whitewash or deny Pak army atrocity in 1971.
Where did I insult ur liberation war? Or ur freedom fighters? Or independence and sovereignty? Could u quote that part of my post? Or did u just put words in my mouth?

I kept my post OBJECTIVE. There were no insults nor any use of language that was derogatory.

Like I said plz show me where I demonstrated disdainful and insulting behavior? If u r talking about my mention of Indian support...all of that was FACTUAL..it happened. I have read quite extensively about the events that led up to the 1971 war...and the details of the war itself...including the role of India and the sabotage, mutiny(from within Pakistani armed forces) and resistance of Bangladeshis. My conclusion that the success of Mukti Bahini and other separatists couldn't have succeeded without Indian support is based on that...if u disagree then u should refute all the points I have made in my earlier post with facts rather than writing an emotionally charged reply accusing me of insulting behavior and putting words in my mouth.

P.S. about that [insulting] attitude from our side and cultivating a respectable attitude. If u r talking about it at a government level then perhaps u should check all of Hasina's anti Pak stunts. From issuing statements to siding with India(at India's behest) ruining SAARC as India centric...all of this happens from ur side from time to time. I have yet to see such cheap behavior in an official capacity from Pak gov or institutions against BD from our side.
On a ppl level...that too at least on PDF u can see all the venom ur side spits against Pak(especially recently ever since BD economy started to take off)...this inevitably invites replies similar in nature from Pak's side. If u want respect...it's simple..."give respect to get respect".

You may not, but some other Pakistani members do that. My statement was directed at them. Whatever, I am not anti-Pakistan. I just can not tolerate some Pakistanis insult and ridicule Bangladesh. Except this case, you would find me in other instances where I say favorable things about Pakistan. I, like most of the Bangladeshi people want to see a strong Pakistan(economically, militarily, diplomatically). Strong Pakistan and strong Bangladesh would be a great counter weight to hindutva fascism now trying to engulf the whole South Asia.

I'm not anti BD...and I'm also in favor of strong cooperation in all fields between BD and Pak. U shouldn't think of some anti BD ppl here as if it's the opinion held by the whole nation. That anti BD sentiment arises when Hasina sides with India against Pak...like in that case of the SAARC summit. That was highly insulting and wrongful to do on part of BD government. It basically made SAARC defunct. Still though on average...to a common Pakistani...BD is in general held in a slightly favorable view just like other Muslim countries...mainly due to the whole ummah sentiment. However Hasina and her insistence on towing the Indian line against Pak is eventually gonna erode that away. In short...it's not Pak that's shying away from cooperation with BD...it is BD(Hasina) that views Pak through the Indian lense.

What stupid conclusions are you making? We were fighting ruthless enemy troops who killed innocent bystanders at random, stabbed the stomach of pregnant women and did all the heinous things. It was our fault that we were unarmed. So, come now in 2019 you will see how you get defeated on the first day without help from India.

Why the hell are you distorting history and bickering for a war that you lost miserably? After all, you are a Martial People which was proved in 1971 by saving 93,000 of your lives. Do not ever claim you guys are Muslims. Satan may not be worse than you. Stupid, learn to self-reflect and then criticize others.

Lmao I can see that u talk based on emotions and have a questionable grasp on English comprehension.

Did u bother to read what I was replying to? More importantly did u understand the post that I was replying to? If u can't remain objective don't quote me

@Homo Sapiens see above...the post by ur fellow Bangladeshi. This sort of venom is what collectively leads to reelection of Hasina's gov...which keeps any progress between Pak/Bangladesh from happening.

I am pretty sure Bangladeshi members over here will conveniently forget the antics of Hasina and her party. Then they talk about respect from Pakistan.

Lol..How emotional you are.

Repeating lies after lies will not make it a truth. You should prostrate to your Hindu Gods for helping you achieve "independence" which btw I seriously doubt. You are essentially a de-facto colony of Hindu India. Your leaders don't have the guts to criticize India. After all , how could they. They (indians) are the ones who gave you so called freedom.
