Pakistani biz groups had invested more than 2 billion USD to avail that GSP+ status and that cheap lobor of Bangladesh...that has to be reinvested in Pak if LDC status is gone.

I remember buying Dockers and Levi's shirts and trousers here in Karachi and with made in Pak tag...and with good quality and XL size and Large size meant that...

Now I see a lot of made in Bangladesh tags on Levis and Dockers shirts and trousers...and XL size was so small for that...don't know it was for local B'desh market or for intl' market. And the quality wasn't good actually, the made in Pak RMG had much better standards

Bd as acountry is very very small for 170 million people

We can cope because 75 percent of our country is not desert+ mountain. 90 percent of Bangladesh is flat,fertile land with ample fresh water and agriculture.

LDC(least developed country) status by EU and US actually helps Bangladesh in getting the GSP + status, comes with caveat tough. Think it is ending sooner than later...anyone knew about it when textiles quotas are ending for Bangladesh and with it the LDC status.

10 year is actually more then enough for Bangladesh for transition. Now the plan is no longer to make cheap clothing for the big brand but to build own global brand for Bangladesh and move to other industries and sector. Bangladesh is aiming to earn more through software development then RMG by 2030.

All countries in south asia are developing country. To be advanced country you need 12000 usd + per capita GDP. All Pakistan, Bangladesh and India has below 2000 usd per capita GDP now.

Dude infrastructure is one of the major bottleneck for Bangladesh but it is overcoming that. A country's overall situation does not define by urbanization only but by many other factor. Bangladesh is well ahead of Pakistan if you look at HDI.

Bangladesh's HDI is 0.579 and Pakistan's HDI is 0.550

Bangladesh is not ahead by that much.

I think Pakistan has potential to be included in LDC. Socio-economic indicators are worse than Bangladesh and a lot of other LDC. But big population size saved it.If Pakistan had 50-60 million people only , than it would have surely included in LDC.
