Now the plan is no longer to make cheap clothing for the big brand but to build own global brand for Bangladesh and move to other industries and sector. Bangladesh is aiming to earn more through software development then RMG by 2030.
Pakistan is facing the same problems vis a vis exploitation of cheap lobor and resources by the big multinationals.
Take the example of sports industry, Pakistan made footballs are exported world over, made in Sialkot Pakistan with extensive and painstaking labor and most of the profits, due to branding is taken over by the likes of Adidas, Nike and other big brands. Few people knew the 'Brazuca' footballs made in Pakistan is used in last football world cup and in many earlier world cups.
In textiles same thing in RMG industry. Yes in home textiles the situation is different...as the name of the company manufacturing it say bed sheets is there, like Al Karam or Gul Ahmed textiles...in pret it is different.
