China needs both Pakistan and Bangladesh for her own pivot to the Indian Ocean, while bringing them massive economic benefits in the form of OBOR(besides already providing low cost military arms for both). It's just that Bangladesh is somehow susceptible to the influence of India who doesnt want to see that happen. Hence, Sino-PK relationship is an all-weather 1 while SIno-BD relationship is subjected to fluctuating periods.

Has India done or offered ANYTHING to BD on the scale of what China has offered?

Unlike Pakistan, Bangladesh is not an enemy state of India.So future course of Bangladesh's policy will be favoring China but not entirely antagonizing India.It will be futile to expect BD taking the same course of Pakistan as BD has no Kashmir equivalent cause against India.Our course will be much like Thailand or Myanmar, favoring China but also maintaining working relation with India.For defence and economic co-operation China will always have an upper hand in Bangladesh.

I think more important for Dhaka is to decide whether it wants remain an India's satellite state or it wants integrity and sovereignty over its affairs.

There are only four truly independent countries in the world. USA, Russia, China and India. Even Canada, Australia, Ukraine, and EU Block etc. are only superficially independent, and their grade of independence varies. So, can someone clarify what grade of independence BD citizens want for their country. A 100% independence require at least $30 billion US military expenditure every year, a big land area like at least that of Pakistan.

Alternately, what the GoB is doing to keep itself away from Indian influence is praiseworthy. It is purchasing military hard wares from China, but, at the same time is also engaging China, India's arch rival. So, what else style of independence is acceptable to the countrymen. Fostering a friendship with all its neighbours and world powers are a pre-requisite for BD to remain independent.

You have a special kind of intelligence.

India doesn't have to "buy" BD. Neither is BD for sale to go to the highest bidder. Have some respect.

You do realize that India and BD are neighbours? China is not. We may not be as wealthy as China but both BD and India know that we will be living alongside each other for centuries. We both want good relations with each other. We can only prosper together.

And money will not change this desire either ways.

If you are looking for the day that BD under any one will throw India under the bus for China, You will be waiting for eternity.
