Detained (Pakistani) man pleads: 'I'm not a threat to Australia'

Type (2) is not welcome in most western countries though.

One might find two types of immigrants from Muslim countries

1) Who completely assimilate in to the western society
2) Who become more religious than they ever were

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being religious, keeping a beard, or criticizing Western foreign policy. It is also acceptable, even admirable, to be politically active and lobby to influence said policies. However, advocating any illegal activity is crossing the line. Anyone who doesn't understand the difference is just stupid.

Having said that, I don't like this policy of 'no comment'. People should have the right to face and refute any accusations against them. This business of secret evidence is very troubling.

As for immigrants becoming radicalized, I fully support the recommendations in Europe (and, I think, Australia) to mandate that all religious leaders should be locally trained and, ideally, locally raised. By law, you can't mandate 'locally born', but locally raised should be a minimum requirement so these people are in tune with the local culture.

Any religious person is not welcome nowadays. I am sure many Christians will agree with me too

I dont think you have any idea at all. The woe is me attitude is getting a bit old, you are trying to paint others with the same stupidity and intolerance you are currently displaying. In the US and Australia you are going to find people of Pakistani origin in all sorts of high positions in the government, military and academia. Do you think Pakistan would extend the same privileges to non Muslims living in Pakistan? Yeah I didnt think so.

But the funny point is - its the rest of the world (including the Muslims and Pakistanis) who wants to settle in the US or UK or do business there because of the egalitarian societies they have made. Its their house, so its there wish who enters and who doesn't. They might have done mistakes in judging people but all in all lets face it, they are more fair to the rest of us.

I've heard in the middle east you can't become the citizen even if you work for decades or own a business in your name. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Anti-US sentiment in Pakistan is a fabrication, most of Pakistanis would accept US citizenship without blinking if they were offered.

At public level yes..American people dont chase Muslims while holding machetes, but the problem is at government level.I have talked to Americans who are far more against Afghan / Iraq war than me. ..When we say "Anti American"..its not about the American citizen or people or even the country..We disagree with certain things their government / Military / politicians do which are grossly unjust and directly effect our lives...Since muslims do get effected by those policies thats why they protest and that fair enough...
Even if you are a born US citizen,or any other country's citizen, you cant and dont have to agree with everything your government does..and disagreeing with certain things does not make you enemy of state...
As an indian..do you totlly agree with whatever your government throws at you? Dont you disagree with certain things?

Likewise if a Muslim inside or outside USA disagrees with certain American policies, which do effect us..Why do you and people like you straight away assume that by disagreeing with US government we are Enemies of America and after American blood?

Same is the case with this boy arrested in Australia...He talked about NATO on the phone and he may have rejected killing of Pakistani soldiers...How does that make him enemy of Australia..Despite the fact that Australia is not a NATO member...
Just because he was a bearded Muslim, and he disagreed with certain things,he was straight away assumed enemy of state.

Western countries are built on christian faith. So I do not think they will have problems with that faith.

However, they do have problems with yours. Moreover, there is no denying that most terrorists are from those deep religious bunch.

and where does it say that only those women are free who hang out most of their flesh for others to see and be proud of it.
where does bible say that its good to eat pork?
so your assumption is wrong....think again.

Bible does not ask men to abstain from consuming ANY kind of animal on this planet. Yes, Christians are free to consume anything....pork included.

You never stop amusing us with your ignorance. First of all western countries are not built on Christian faith but on principles of secularism and secondly i told you 100 times that your definition of terrorism need to be updated. Terrorist is someone who kill innocent. Now do your maths to calculate who is responsible of killing more innocent lives.

Pakistan give same privileges to non Muslims if you stop looking at Pakistan from your western Propaganda Media .The flag of Pakistan has a white strip to represent minorities. Pakistan has very less non Muslim population but still you have non Muslims in sport and high ranks position even rana Bagwan das was one of the chief justice of Pakistan. Do you have any Muslim chief justice in your courts? What about sports? I dont see any asian in cricket/hoceky team
