Delhi Loses in Its Own Backyard

hahhaa what about giving the same advice to China when it bullies singapore. Forgot what Chinese foreign minister said to Singaporean diplomat "China is a big country and other countries are small countries, and that’s just a fact". That time Pakistanis were like HUHAHUHA Go China..
We will do anything that helps our cause. Maldives is a small country and if it comes down to threatning we will do it.

i never did this huahah stuff and if even China do so they have same stance against the bigger powers too unlike india which can only pressurize countries like maldives.....

If so why Indians are crying when Maldives took a better decision for its people.

For Maldives looking towards China is the best future gurantee along with respect sans any bullying.

Pakistan had taken the same view while looking towards USA in 1980's.. Look how that turned out :D

Maldives President Mohamed Waheed has denied the suggestion in the media that China nudged his country to push out the Male airport operator, Indian multinational company GMR.

“Absolutely no. Absolutely no,” he said. “The only significant cooperation we have with China at this time is through development assistance… like building the museum, housing projects. I don’t think India should worry about it at all.”

Dr. Waheed said that Maldives was not looking for a foreign investor to develop the Ibrahim Nasir Airport in Male. “Male International Airport was the single largest development project undertaken by the people of Maldives. It is a very sensitive and very emotional project. Some of that emotional part contributes to the political uproar. But we tried over the last nine months to look at this very objectively and not rush into things. We inherited the problem from the last government. Over a period of seven months, we tried to understand what the legal implications are, what the technical problems are, what the business implications are.” On compensation, he said that this would be decided through a process of arbitration.

Maldives was looking at developing a few domestic airports through Joint Ventures and partnerships. He would travel to countries in West Asia, including Saudi Arabia, to attract investment to develop infrastructure.

To drive home his point that no other Indian project had been affected, he said that Maldives had been discussing projects with other Indian firms, such as the Tatas. “The Tata Waste management project has been renegotiated. I am hoping that within the next week or so, it will be finalised. Similarly, the Tata housing project is going on. There is also another Indian project, a housing project, in Hulhumale. We have many other long standing Indian investments — we have the Taj Hotels, the State Bank of India, some Information Technology projects. Then there are many Indian traders,” he said.

We believe we are in a good position transformation for better :)

Choosing US over Russia was though a tough somewhat out of place at that time but in my personal opinion we can deal better with Americans.

anyway again the future for South Asian countries is to club with CHINA.

And its the INDIAN Media as always that is spreading warmongering claiming China is behind scrapping the deal.

Just like Pakistan thought that the future of Pakistan was to club with USA in 1980's.. However the problem is Pakistan's definition of clubbing or aligning. Pakistan's definition of alignment is predominantly driven by how much a country can help it counter balancing India rather than how much can that country help Pakistan grow..And there in lies the problem..

It has nothing to do with counter balancing.

anyway we feel we are better in club of USA along with strong relations with CHINA. Never at a point we dicthed China unlike India that had done to Iran for sake of clubing with USA.

Anyway you are clinging to straws.

i will repeat again Maldives-Sri Lanka-Bangladesh-Nepal-Bhuttan should club with CHINA for a safe and better future this will also stabilize the region as well

All countries are not like Pakistan who alway want Big Brother for them. Britishers use them in 47, USA use them during cold war, now China is using them against India. Its not called clubing not surrender...

"True love" can not take by force. ;)
Sorry but indians believe in teachings of Ram............

Vinay na maanahi jaladhi jad, gaye teen did beet”. Bole Ram sakop tab , Bhay bin hoye na preet

ie..For three days sea didnt answered to the prayers of Lord Ram then on 4th day Ram in anger said there can not be love without fear.

Look at where Pakistan stands today. Its certainly not me who is clutching at straws.

What do you think is happening in Libya, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Pakistan and scores of other countries?

Its a fact that Maldives is headed towards radical Islamic fundamentalism. India should distance itself from such regimes and concentrate of building relations with peaceful moderate countries.
unfortuantely for you and the people who think like you, religious countries have tons of natural resources that you need, hate em or like em, can't live with them either :azn: these are the same religious countries that india is dying to do business with.
