on a second look, im surprised a giant country like China has no company in the top 100.

No China is strange,but maybe they havent sold enough to be in the top 100.

Their are some points more. Imagine you have a first class product. Things that you consider . 1. At first, is their any need of this product. 2. Is it payable. 3. Presentation. 4. Marketing. 5. Distribution. 6. Support by government...

All companies in china are state owned , this might be a reason that they are not taken to account in list.

SIPRI gave this reason in 2012 top 100 list & i think it's same for 'Defence News'...

The SIPRI Top 100 lists the world’s 100 largest arms-producing and military services companies (excluding Chinese companies)[a], ranked by their arms sales in 2012. The list is based on the comprehensive SIPRI Arms Industry Database, which contains financial and employment data on the world’s major arms-producing and military services companies.

4 companies, and i dont think that Israeli military industries are subsidized.

I'm pretty sure all those US military grants do their part.

They are state owned, and maybe Chinese do not want to expose the details about their companies, and defence industry with too much details.
