Japan's Defense Ministry is studying the option of shooting down unmanned drones that infringe on Japanese airspace and threaten public safety.
This follows an incident earlier this month in which the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force dispatched fighter jets after confirming a drone near Okinawa.

After Japan released a photo of the plane, China's defense ministry admitted that it belonged to them.

Japanese defense officials are looking at measures to deal with unmanned planes that approach the country's airspace. They say shooting down an invading drone would be an option, as such planes are unlikely to heed warnings issued by radio or by pilots of scrambled aircraft.

Defense officials say they've long been aware of China's drone training flights over the East China Sea. They say the drones could venture closer to Japan's airspace as China expands its naval presence.

The officials add that the drone spotted earlier this month may have been a reconnaissance plane with attack capabilities.

They are analyzing its capabilities and the purpose of its flight, while reinforcing patrols around the Senkaku Islands in Okinawa Prefecture.

do you really believe that japan is going to shut down our UAV and effectively declare war with China?

the truth is simple: attacking our UAVs in the international air space or the disputed air space will be considered as a declaration of war.

This is a matter of balls !

We attacked american drones so many times ... but ... :lazy::usflag:

the only drones that have entered their airspace are the ones in their imagination. sad the fukushima radiation is causing so much mental delusion.

Those fools think shooting a UAV down isn't a declaration of war because "there is no pilots inside."

They need to clean up the radiation before making such decisions.
