IA & IAF have always favored foreign systems for kickbacks which resulted in laying a death kneel to tons of indigenous projects in the making. Be it tenders for MMRCA, ATGMs etc have been cancelled and re-issued every couple of months. Specifications for the next iteration of Arjun MBT or even the Tejas have been constantly changed. The moment DRDO comes up with a development as requested, IA/IAF would change it stating they're outdated but infact, DRDO has been developing tech at a decent pace

GoI/MoD should issue a self-arms embargo on those weapons systems which is the only way for us to develop our indigenous defence industry with active participation from private Indian defence firms. That's how China developed and that's the only way forward
