You know what actually Russia selling us conventional weapons is good for India because if we don't have good conventional weapons than without any hesitation we should straight use nukes. So better you have a chance against conventional forces than getting nuked
Seriously ?
Nuking is a joke right ? -_-

Pakistan don't need that kind of money because Russia Pakistan good relation are good for Chinese interest and they are supporting it.

Although Pakistan is not in competition with India when it comes to relations with Russia, but if you are comparing both then tell me, can India match what China and Pakistan can offer combined???
India can't match China right now , agreed and no doubt about it.
Let's see 25 years across this span.
Hope to see Asia a developed continent.

you are trying to piggyback on China

you are not the most important thing in the world to China

Basically we are the most important strategic ally of China, we are their Israel. Get your facts right first. :D

Similar can be said for Pakistan vs India too dear. :D

Provide facts not estimates.

And we haven't raised the question of American sale of weapons and material to India which accounts for over 40% of their military buying for the past few years. India represents a country with a strong foreign policy and Pakistan which cannot even defend its basic interests. One thing to protest was the American Indo nuclear deal a deal they denied to us at the time. Thanks to our laid back policy where we do not raise our concerns Pakistan is now in a lot of problems external and internal.
Protesting US weapons sales to India and the nuclear deal wouldn't have made a difference, given the amount of money India was willing to spend.

India's protests to pretty much everyone selling weapons to Pakistan are based on the idea that Indian can leverage her significantly larger weapons purchases from those countries to block weapons sales to Pakistan. This will not work with the US because the US is the weapons developer of choice when it comes to many of the systems India is looking to purchase (India wants US weapons technology more than the US needs to sell it to India), and this approach is increasingly not going to work with Russia because of India's diversification of weapons purchases from the West.

yes dragon is on your side but dragon is in no position to "pressurize" Russia for Pakistan's sake.

you a fan of this guy ?

Well we should develop a strong policy and say clearly, fearlessly that relations with America and Pakistan mean no relations with India and America. Ayub tried this policy despite all of his flaws.

What's stopping you?

btw in Ayub's time US supplied Bell B47's, B24 Liberators, and Fairchild C-119's to IAF.

Ayub tried that policy in a different era, with Cold War dynamics in play. In today's environment, with economic interdependence in play, convincing major powers to 'take sides' against another State when that State does not pose any kind of major threat to said Global Powers is unlikely to succeed.

Take for example, the India-Russia relationship - despite extensive historical ties and economic leverage (military purchases and cooperation primarily) India has been largely unsuccessful in limiting Russian engagement with Pakistan and a continued 'normalization' of the Pakistan-Russia relationship.

That said, we are still likely to see a successful application of 'pressure' on specific 'issue/item' based efforts - take, for example, the example of France limiting military sales to Pakistan because of India's MMRCA, Scorpene subs and other deals. A critical point to note here is that the key factor behind the successful application of pressure to 'take sides', in today's global environment, is money.

I know. US betrayed Ayub and his demands not to supply India with weapons. There was an article on the sad subject.
