No no, forced religious conversions by Nizam i.e. the Razaakars, Swami Ramananda Tirtha along with Andhra Hindu Mahasabha were for joining the Indian Union. By the time Communist Party of India had driven out the landlords the Razaakars were breathing down the neck of people. The old timer i talked to says that the villages liberated had patrolling party's for identifying the razaakars or the displaced landlords returning for retribution. Noted leaders fled to vijayawada i think it must be because it was under Madras presidency then till Andhra formation.

I just checked wiki and this stuff seems to be there too.

I don't know about forced conversions to Hinduism, but forced conversions to Islam of Hindus happened quite a bit in 1948 in Hyderabad.

It is also a known fact that Razakaars tried to change the Hindu majority demography of Hyderabad to show that they should remain a separate state (not an Indian state) if they are not Hindu majority. While there might have been local Hindu-Muslim riots in Hyderabad, just like anywhere else during Partition, it is absolutely not something that was carried out by the Govt as this article suggests.

This article is obviously trolls (its from a blog from TOI for Gods sake, not the best source of investigative journalism). Also, 1200 Muslims got killed in Gujrat, and its still a pretty sensitive subject even today, do you really think that 20 times as many people getting killed would not have been mentioned anywhere except a random blog?

The people had the right to defend themselves against any violence and that was war and in any war there are casualties..
