He has not taken over yet. PV Naik will retire on 31 July.A radical change has been foreseen ever since MR Browne has taken over. Hope this fasten up the procurement plans.
I agree....i think we should increase the number of fighters in MMRCA and the choice should Rafale. EF is way too expensive and is not worth that cost. If we want that much power in Rafale (which we don't need but still) i always said we can get Snecmas M88-X version which is being offered to UAE and Quwait and will be ready for offer by 2013 but this process can accelerate if India will also show interest. This engine is specifically meant for extreme whether temperature of these countries and they will be used for interception role.He also should scrap Mirage and Jaguar mid upgrades which goes into billions and replace with ground attack quality fighters with that money.
Maybe that Omni role fighter suits the job.
I think now HAL should go with some new designs which every helicopter manufacture has one at the moment which are stealthy and high speed (around 500 kmph). I think we should again hold the hand of our Russian friends for IMRH.There is another project for an Indian-made Multi Role Helicopter later in the decade.

The best chopper project in which we should invest is Kamov-90
