You can take any stats for any undesirable social ill and India scores very very low in all of them. There are 6.6 lakh villages and cities in India, but only 12,800 police station. Because you are not living in wilderness or on the surface of moon. You are part of a society which was formed after thousands of years of trials and errors. The wisdom contained in it did not come about by some quirk. Every single member of this society has a stake in keeping it livable. Antisocial attitudes or attitudes which could lead to destruction of society would be commented on and if needed legislated against. India's democracy is not a free for all lunatic asylum. There are rules and regulations, there are laws and conventions with a lot of freedom to innovate without blowing it up.

The female infanticide etc, it's a part of the culture, the DNA. Indian men to this day still believe women are second class citizens hence, every day in India there is at least 15 rapes, and those are just the ones reported. Do you have stats to prove majority of rapes in India are gang rapes? Would even like to see stats for poor and uneducated commit rapes and rich and educated do not. Wonder how uneducated and poor Tarun Tejpal was or those in the media and Bollywood where the casting couch is so common.
