Got a bottle of Absinthe gifted to me by one of my friends for the New Year. Little hesitant to open it - Anyone with experience about Absinthe and care to share their experience?

I picked up a bottle a few months back . you will need to buy a small perforated spoon with a few sugar cubes.
the proper way is to pour a small shot of absinthe in a shot glass, then place the spoon on top with a sugar cube, add water slowly to the cube till it dissolves. , typically i use 1/ 1 1/2 quantities of water.

its an acquired taste . so not sure if you will like it . but it will get you high fast so watch out.

brilliant mate . worth experiencing . my advice is not to cross 2 shots your first time.

If you are looking for anything more than your regular alcohol high then in my experience no such thing happens. But yes since the alcohol content is high and its a new drink to you then surely you will get drunk faster than normal.

Maybe you will get lucky and will have an interesting story to share.

Bro - in my experience different liquors provide you different experience. For the regular scotches or gins or vodka, the room spins around. I used to get this rum during my college days through some officer in the Sulur Air Force base canteen - couple of drinks the floor down below is at 90 degrees and you want t hold on to the floor else you feel you will fall down. Likewise absinthe I heard will give you a feeling of fairy flying around you. So was my question.

Any alocohol in sufficient quantities makes most girls look like fairies to me. If you want them to ''fly around you'' then you must make them consume the same stuff in sufficient quantities too.

Well that happens for most men but I. Absinthe as I saw in a movie Eurotrip shows a green fairy - will share the experience.
