Cynthia Ritchie claims she was raped by Rehman Malik & assaulted by Yusuf Raza Gillani

But the alleged crime happened in Pakistan.

What kind of a demand is this? Seriously
@Dalit
I mean just assist her hiring a lawyer... finish off= like his career by putting him in jail. Not like killing him. As we need due process of law.. plus it will be better as he will be maligned/punished by court.

There are dozens of crimes that happened in Pakistan at the hands of US officials. The US government not only intervened, but also shipped out their puppets back to their native country.

Governance is an issue in Pakistan and the laws are not robust enough rigged with technical buyout clauses.

She can get a lawyer, file a case. Most of these do end up with out of court settlements anyways.

She should get a lawyer. This is not some ordinary accusation. Let's see how both PPP puppets react after these grave allegations.

I got only one thing to say to you.

Race is apolitical crime.

It is a fair demand. These allegations need to be brought in the court of law. The accused need to be prosecuted.

It would also be interesting to see what the role of US officials was in this. If the PPP was assisting US espionage activities in Pakistan through Hussain Haqqani and Rehman Malik, was there pressure on Cynthia from US officials to stay quiet?

Wouldn't necessarily have been direct or explicit pressure not to proceed, just some well meaning ' friendly advice' about the futility of pursuing such allegations against such powerful men in a country with a compromised judicial system.

Well, she confirmed it. US Embassy basically told her to back off given 'fluid situation and complex relations between the US and Pakistan'.

US officials who did so are complicit in my view.

Pakistani politicians have been raping the country for decades. It is not far fetched to assume they have raped innocent women as well..

#StandWithCynthiaRitchie

call for an out of season aurat march?

This woman has been fighting alone with entire PPP gang on twitter with evidences. I honestly believe there must be some sort of evidences to back her claims.

Thats the interesting thing, because the incident happened so long ago physical evidence will be difficult to produce.

If she can get another witness, and with the support of evidence like a visitors log or security footage (if it still exists) does she have a case. Otherwise this will simply remain an accusation that these scumbags can easily brush off.

Let's not do that.

There is an entire list of far more powerful women in the US who stayed quiet and did not publicize their sexual assaults at the hands of powerful men because they were afraid their careers would be destroyed. Given Pakistan's poor reputation when it comes to investigating and prosecuting crimes, do you really think she wasn't worried that accusing the Prime Minister and Interior minister of a country she was living and working in would really go anywhere?

This was also at the height of the TTP terrorist campaign in Pakistan. Would anyone have even questioned Cynthia (an American) being kidnapped or shot in cold blood at that point in time?
Fair point. Given what you said makes 100% sense. My first [rushed thought] was "how contrived" and "come on". But now you have swayed my thinking.
