I think not. Ma Weiming was basically praised every year for the past decade, but seem to have gone silent in the last 2. Also, it's been a year since they launch the ship and the tent is still in place over EMALS. That kind of delay is a bit unusual for a Chinese ship.

Because the EMALS still needs a tremendous amount of power, that's why Fujian looks more and more like a nuclear/conventional hybrid.

When Shandong was launched, its exhaust port started to fume within 2 weeks. Whereas Fujian has been launched for 10 months, and there is no sign of fume, because its main source of power is likely being replaced by the nuclear reactors.

And now Fujian will start to testify its catapults, and you will likely see fume come out from its exhaust port, because its EMALS is still powered by the conventional power as Ma Weiming stated years ago.

The pure conventional propulsion cannot power Fujian.

And the CVN-19 in DL and CVN-20 in JN will all be pure nuclear powered carriers without any exhaust port like Fujian.

BEIJING, April 23 -- Good news about the aircraft carrier Fujian arrived on the eve of the 74th birthday of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, which falls on Sunday.

According to a video report of China Central Television on April 22, China's third aircraft carrier Fujian is now successfully conducting power and mooring tests.

On June 17, 2022, a ceremony was held to celebrate the launching and naming of the Fujian ship, and subsequent tests and mooring trials were successfully carried out. As the Fujian ship further completes sea trials and eventually achieves combat effectiveness, the PLA Navy will truly step into the era of three aircraft carriers.

Pretty much certain that the smoke came out from the exhaust port is gas turbine.

Shandong got much darker smoke, and it got smoke less than 1 month after the launch, whereas Fujian got smoke more than 11 months after the launch.

I heard these funny clips too. LOL.. At the time I couldn't comment just as when the whole Patriot-using world went viral after Ukraine claimed their Patriot system shot down the Kinzhal. Here on PDF many well-known characters all celebrated the Patriot's achievement.
