Why do people belonging to Jatt caste alone take so much pride in their caste and flaunt it? When others are trying to come out of the caste system, why to still hold on to caste ? They seem to be Jatt first, Sikh or Punjabi later. How many castes have graphics like this?

First Jatt isnt a caste in the traditional sense of the term. Its more of a tribe, community. The social structure in Punjab reflects the one in Pakistan Punjab. Since its an agrarian society, the land owning ones, usually the Jatts have most of the political power. Its the same in Haryana and western UP. How many times have you seen Haryana, Raj and UP Jatts fighting for Ayodhya or major religious issues? Almost never.Jatts are a group unto themselves and in many case their allegiance to their tribe superseded their allegiance to the their religion.

Well before the like of RSS and Shiv these Sikh hardliners were jobless the most they did were few rallies for some gurudwara's or other religious stuff against the Punjab government.But after a huge migrant wave ended here from Bihar and UP groups like Shiv Sena started to get a foot.Most of these guys are not even resident of Punjab they stir up some shi* and then run back to their villages.Well you can't demand certain things in Punjab when you are living in Bihar.

Believe me I know about how certain people behave as if its their grandfathers village while living in some other state with no regard for the local culture/language and I have witnessed it first hand but , you can also say unfortunately, there is nothing that prevents them from coming to your state or my state and settling down. It is in the constitution.

Infact I would say my state is more affected because of these dirt cheap labor from these states the local unskilled people are not getting jobs. And crime rate is also increasing with burglaries, dacoities etc. But that is how it is.

Exactly, but people here won't understand that. They are too naive, most being kids here, I expect that.

What is happening in Punjab is similar to Kashmir, only that in Punjab it is in its infancy. If SS, BSP and RSS isn't stopped, another riot is coming, and it will be bloodier, nastier, and I fear, Punjab might vanish from India's map by 2040.

Its still in its infancy, all of it can be stopped. We just need to enforce the laws without fear and politics.

Now you are making things up or blowing things out of proportion.

Going by your same logic the Hindu community all over India can voice fear at the growing number of minorities, the unchecked activities of jihadis/missionaries and seek a total clamp down on all their activities or fear a Partion V 2.0

As much as I respect the Sikh sentiments in this case, considering Beant Singh was no cute puppy himself, allowing this movement be hijacked by Sikh right win will only strengthen the Hindu rightwing in Punjab and no, that is not because of the migrants, but its because the Punjabi HIndus themselves feel provoked.

Migrant worker's on a whole is not the problem but those migrant worker who can't leave their the UP style gunda-giri and end up in Shiv sena ranks championing the rights of 40% of native Hindu population.Most of the migration from eastern states is seasonal.
