The link you provided is from 2011, so out of the 10yrs, there's only 7yrs left to complete such a massive modernization drive. Please update us, as to how far along is Russia in this mammoth project. Otherwise don't waste other people's time.

Apart from specific units of Russian armed forces, most of the equipment Russia has is outdated, their military doctrine and war strategy is still stuck in the Cold War era - hint of this is the fact that Russian troops were just shown on BBC digging trenches on the entry point to Crimea..

Russia's naval fleet is largely obsolete and rusting away in its ports aside from a handful subs n some surface ships.

It doesn't matter how "bad" you think Putin is (I don't like him that much either, but I hate a lot of politicians )...a lot of people like him, Russia, and Russians in Ukraine. Yatsenyuk was stupid not to realize that and now it's too late.

I don't care how bad Putin is either, my whole point is to bring attention to the horrible precedent Russia is setting because of him. The only people who like Putin are either his crony buddies who have gotten dirty rich by siding with him and those that watch Russian state television to shape their view of the world.
