Craze of learning Chinese hits Mongolia

They should have long done that. China is by far the largest trading partner of Mongolia. 84% of her exports go to China and 40% of her imports come from China.

But there are resistance to learning Chinese among the older generation. I remember reading a Mongolian blog years ago explaining that they feel that the Mongols are a superior warrior race and refuse to learn anything Chinese. They are always afraid that China's huge population would pour into the vast underpopulated Mongolian steppes and reclaim the territory.

There was this Mongolian singer who married a Chinese and she became a wide-hated person there because she betrayed her 'Mongol blood'.
Sorry to hurt their ego, but there are much more Mongols in China than in Outer Mongolia.
And they do not use the real Mongol any more, full of Russian words.

How about Mongol girl singing Mongol style song in Mandarin?
p.s. one of the most popular pop songs that Chinese aunties use for their Square Dance across China

How about Tibetan girl from Sichuan Province singing Mongol style song from Inner Mongolia in Mandarin?

How about one of the most beloved Mongol singer in China?
Singing for decades and multiple times in Spring Festival Gala
This song is literally known to all Chinese!
Beautiful grassland, my hometown!

Heaven, equally famous song as "beautiful grassland, my hometown"

You can read Mongolian blog, very impressive. Is it hard to learn Mongolian?

Err no. The blog was written in English by a Mongol. Sorry to disappoint.

Obviously we meant Mandarin, the most commonly used Chinese language.

Chinese is some sort of written language.
Their spoken one can be Mandarin, Shanghainese, Cantonese, Sichuanese, etc.
Mandarin was chosen to be the representative of Chinese and now the standard national spoken form, based on a mixture of Beijing dialect and Northeast Chinese dialect.
In Ming Dynasty, it was Nanjing dialect that was chosen to be the national spoken dialect.

That was the period in the early 2000 when Mongolian naively think they could depend on themselves and American assist to survive. But the harsh reality came down hard on them. With sharp dropping of commodity prices. Mongolian export hit hard. With American and Russia r/s sour. Russia is very bitter of Mongolian sticking too close to American and especially US soldiers are invited to war games in Mongol. Russia are not in mood to help Mongolian export commodities as Russia themselves are raw material exporting country too. Without Russian help, Mongol can only turn to Chinese who bought a whopping 90% of their export. Mongol is at the mercy of Chinese. That is why their government change their tone towards the Chinese government. They suppress anti-Chinese activities and encourage Sino-Mongol friendship. Trying hard to win more Chinese investment....

Learning of Chinese is widely encourage by Mongol government. Mongolia is landlocked, they have to face either Chinese or Russian. Since Russia is broke and that left Chinese only. :enjoy:

US military is irrelevant in Mongolia.

Don't underestimate things...they sent troops to Iraq in 2003 at the request of the US. You didn't see Russia or China go.

Mongolian learn their mistake and its Chinese that called the shot of Mongol. Even Russia turns blind eye to Chinese activities in Mongol becos they detest US on Mongol soil even more. :enjoy:

Mongolia very large a country in size, population is about 3 million. Can't know why they are so poor! Every familiy feed only 500 sheep, sell 200 ( 700 USD per sheep ), keep 300 for reproduce and food. Those poor must be too lazy to feed sheep.
