That is because it broke off when the helicopter crashed and fell on the other side of the wall. So when the need was to plant and detonate in under a minute, there was just not enough time.

All we can do is speculate but I think it is highly likely Pakistan took paint and mechanical samples. If the reverse engineering program for this helicopter is successful Pakistan may be able to develop it's own stealth capabilities. As one member posted there is already ongoing chemical research.

true, I'll bet even a scrap of that composite would be worth it's weight in gold for Pakistan/China. In case they got more, like intact electronic and other systems, all the better.

So the helicopter crashed---the seals are doing their operation---they are wrapping it up and they realize that their is a broken down split up chopper on the ground---. So the team leader send a message to the demolition guy to hook up the charges and blast it off---the demolition guy mis-understood the directive---instead of the chopper---he started laying charges around the building----by the time the mistake was recognize---it was too late---hey had to leave---so in a hurry he was only able to put charges against the main bdy of the chopper and the cabin and instrumentation----which supposedly burnt down to nothing----and the tail section stayed---.
